Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia will be mounting the award-winning rock musical: SPRING AWAKENING this September, directed by Broadway veteran and new musical theatre program coordinator Kevin Covert. Working from a freshly translated script by Anne-Charlotte Harvey that removes stilted language while staying true to Ibsen's voice, the actors have put their personal touches on their characters to create a piece that speaks to contemporary audiences. Lovers of classic theatre will not want to miss this gripping world premiere translation.

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will present Irish actress Lisa Dwan in her internationally acclaimed Beckett Trilogy:  Not /Footfalls/ Rockaby, running for six performances from April 13 - 17, 2016, at NYU Skirball Center.  Beckett Trilogy will open on April 13, the 110th Anniversary of Samuel Beckett's birth, and the opening night performances will feature a post-show celebration and conversation honoring Beckett's legacy. 

Semyon Bychkov will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct Mahler's Symphony No. 6, tonight, February 11, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, February 12 at 8:00 p.m.; Saturday, February 13 at 8:00 p.m.; and Tuesday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m.

The Aviva Players will begin its 40th season tonight, October 16 with 'Songs, Piano Rags & Chamber Music by Women Composers, including the Piano Trio by Fanny Mendelssohn,' the first installment of a three-part concert series at Opera America, 330 Seventh Ave.  The concert will include piano rags by May Frances Aufderheide, Irene Giblin and Adeline Shepard; songs by Mira J. Spektor, and 'Vocal Duets' and 'The Piano Trio' by Fanny Mendelssohn.  The evening is presented in conjunction with Downtown Music Productions.

This December, Marin Theatre Company continues its 48th Season with a presentation of Reduced Shakespeare Company performing their The Complete History of Comedy (abridged), starring writer/directors Reed Martin and Austin Tichenor, with Dominic Conti. The "Bad Boys of Abridgement" will leave no joke untold as they deconstruct the entire history of comedy in a dizzying night's entertainment.

This week, Mr. van Zweden will lead the Orchestra in Korngold's Violin Concerto, with Hilary Hahn as soloist; Beethoven's Symphony No. 7; and J. Wagenaar's Cyrano de Bergerac Overture, marking the Philharmonic's first time performing the work, tonight, November 26, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, November 28 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, November 29 at 8:00 p.m.
