The Barbican today announced a stellar program of events for spring and summer 2014, pushing the boundaries of all major art forms for its diverse audiences. This new program builds on the most successful year ever for the Barbican, with attendances for events at the Centre exceeding 1 million for the first time, an increase of 36% on 2011/12. In this Olympics year, box office receipts also rose 33%, and the Barbican's commercial income increased by 35%.

The Frick Collection presents its seventy-fifth anniversary season of classical music concerts in the elegant setting of the museum's Music Room. Debuting in 1938, just three years after The Frick Collection opened to the public; the concert series is one of the most celebrated in New York City and has delighted thousands of visitors over the years with world-class performances ranging from solo recitals to chamber music groups to early music ensembles. The Music Room, built in 1935 as part of the transformation of the private mansion into a museum and the setting for concerts since then, conveys the atmosphere of a private salon, offering performers and attendees a uniquely intimate environment and impressive acoustics.

his is the last week for director Michael Spellman's The Holdup, now at the Spotlighters Theater (www.spotlighters.org). Throughout 2012, Austria is celebrating the 150th birthday of Gustav Klimt with exhibitions devoted to his work. Several Viennese museums, including the Albertina, the Belvedere, the Kunsthistorisches Museum, the Leopold Museum, and the Wien Museum, are honoring different aspects of Klimt's extraordinary legacy. The Neue Galerie is joining in these celebrations with a special summer 2012 installation of his work. "Gustav Klimt: 150th Anniversary Celebration" will be on view at the Neue Galerie from May 24 to August 27, 2012.

2012 BBC Proms Season to Include MY FAIR LADY Concert, July 14

The 2012 BBC Proms is officially launched today, revealing details of the broad-ranging programme of events planned for its 118th season. Opening at the Royal Albert Hall on 13 July 2012 the festival promises two months of the world's greatest artists, composers, orchestras and ensembles across 92 concerts, including four Last Night celebrations around the UK.
