Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, recognized as a vital “American Cultural Ambassador” to the world and New York City Center's Principal Dance Company, returns to the New York City Center stage for the 45th consecutive year from December 2, 2015 – January 3, 2016.  Led by Robert Battle in his fifth season, Ailey's renowned artists will bring to life an expansive repertory of two dozen works by some of America's most celebrated dance-makers during this exciting annual season, which has become a joyous holiday tradition.  The performances will feature three new productions of Ailey Classics, a Company premiere by Paul Taylor, and world premieres by Kyle Abraham, Ronald K. Brown and Robert Battle – his first since becoming Artistic Director.

BootStrap Theater Foundation is pleased to announce the creative team and dates for the world premiere of "Arctic Requiem: The Story of Luke Cole and Kivalina" created by  Sharmon J. Hilfinger and Joan McMillen, directed by Tracy Ward. This multifaceted  theatrical production will run October 23 - November 15 at San Francisco's Z Below Theater 450 Florida Street with an Opening Night on Sunday, October 25, 5 p.m.

Academy Award winner Helen Mirren will return to Broadway this spring as Elizabeth II in Peter Morgan's The Audience, directed by two-time Tony Award winner Stephen Daldry. The Writers Guild of America, East will honor Norman Lear with the Evelyn F. Burkey Award at the 67th annual Writers Guild Awards in New York City tonight, February 14, 2014. Bill Moyers will present Lear with the Burkey Award, which recognizes a person or organization whose contributions have brought honor and dignity to writers.

At a press conference held at Barrington Stage Company's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, Artistic Director Julianne Boyd announced the theatre's 2015 season of musicals and plays that will take place in Downtown Pittsfield in the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, St. Germain Stage and Youth Theatre venues.

Broadway fans had plenty of reasons to celebrate this year, with dozens of shows having opened since January, hundreds of actors having made their debuts, and many more having returned to the stage for critically acclaimed performances.
