The 15th Annual New York International Fringe Festival will present the premiere of the new play SAMMY GETS MUGGED!, by award-winning writer Dan Heching, from August 15 to 28. Directed by Noah Himmelstein, the cast features Stephanie Pope Caffey (Broadway's Chicago, Fosse and more), Patrick Byas ('Law & Order: SVU') and Mr. Heching.

The Colony Theatre Company is excited to present the fifth and final production of its 36th season, the classy, sassy musical, THE ALL NIGHT STRUT!, conceived by Fran Charnas, directed & choreographed by Murphy Cross and Paul Kreppel (Jay Johnson: The Two and Only!) with musical direction by Dean Mora. THE ALL NIGHT STRUT! will close on Sunday, May 1 at The Colony Theatre, 555 North Third Street (at Cypress) adjacent to the Burbank Town Center.

Three-time Tony Award-winning scenic designer ROBIN WAGNER and esteemed costume designer LEWIS BROWN are among the 2011 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 8 at 6:30pm at the Hudson Theatre (145 West 44th Street). Mr. Brown was selected to receive the 2011 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design, and Tony Award-winning scenic designer Robin Wagner will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. Sadly, Mr. Brown passed away in January of 2011. His award will be accepted by his long-time colleague and friend, Albert Wolsky, who was the recipient of the 2010 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award

On Monday, May 2, 2011 The New York Pops' marks its 28th birthday with Celebrate Hope, a grand gala evening celebrating the legacy of late actor and comedian Bob Hope and honoring decades of support by Interpublic Group. The event begins at 7:00 PM with a concert at Carnegie Hall featuring a special lineup of concert artists - including Brooke Shields, Cheyenne Jackson, Christine Ebersole, Kelli O'Hara, Maurice Hines, Cartier Williams and special guest Angela Lansbury - under the baton of Music Director Steven Reineke. The New York Pops will also be joined on stage by the singers of The Camp Broadway Kids and the West Point Glee Club. Following the concert, a black tie dinner and dance will be held at the luxurious Plaza Hotel.

THE VIOLET HOUR will close Sunday, March 13 at the Lillian Theatre, 6322 Santa Monica Blvd. in Hollywood.

Savion Glover will tap his way onto the Van Wezel stage Tuesday, February 22 at 8 p.m.Savion Glover became a dance legend with his Broadway smash hit Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk, which won a Tony Award, a Drama Desk Award and two Obies, but kids may recognize the fancy footwork he laid down for Mumbles, the twinkle-toed penguin in the 2006 animated film Happy Feet. In the years since Savion exploded onto the stage in Bring in 'da Noise, Bring in 'da Funk he has engaged in a relentlessly curious search for new ways to showcase tap dance while stripping it down to its essence.

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) presents the TRU Writer-Director Communications Lab on Saturday, February 19, 2011 from 1pm to 7pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street, Studio 3C. Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) offers twenty-two writers a chance to practice their pitching skills with real producers who are looking for new work. TRU's next WRITER-PRODUCER SPEED DATE will take place on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 5:30pm and 6:30pm at The Players Theatre, 115 MacDougal Street (below W. 3rd Street), NYC. Commercial Broadway producers already scheduled to listen and respond to writer pitches include Pam Koslow (Jane Eyre, Jelly's Last Jam, Yank!), Ken Waissman (Grease, Torch Song Trilogy), Jane Dubin (The Norman Conquests revival, 39 Steps), Cheryl Wiesenfeld (Legally Blonde, A Steady Rain, The Exonerated) and Apples and Oranges Productions (Memphis, Hair), with six more to be announced.

The upcoming PBS documentary, 'The Tenth Inning', will be narrated by Tony nominee, Keith David. The new two-part, four-hour documentary by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick picks up where Burns's 1994 series BASEBALL left off. The documentary will air Tuesday-Wednesday, September 28-29, 8:00-10:00 pm ET on PBS.
