The Douglas Morrisson Theatre continues its 2013-2014 season with a world premiere adaptation of Oscar Wilde's 'An Ideal Husband.' Directed by the Douglas Morrisson Theatre's Artistic Director Susan E. Evans, Bay Area playwright Scott Munson's sparkling new adaptation of the 118 year old play in a modern setting features an ensemble of local performers: Myers Clark as Roosevelt, Teddy Spencer as Thomas Goring, Daria Hepps as Laura Chiltern, Craig Souza as Robert Chiltern, Cynthia Lagodzinski as Rosalind Cheveley, Brooke Silva as Tammy Chiltern, Kendall Tieck as Governor Goring, Celia Maurice as Mrs. Markby, Alicia von Kugelgen as Mrs. Marchmont, Beebe Reisman as Mrs. Basildon and Tina Rutsch as Ambassador Nanjac.

Fathom Events, Arts Alliance Media and Mr Wolf extend the splendor of Great Britain's world-renowned Royal Ballet to select U.S. movie theaters with the continuation of “The Royal Ballet 2014 Cinema Season.” With a new production of special one-night performances brought to the big screen monthly through March, this series of popular storybook and classic ballets will begin with the romantic “Giselle” on Monday, Jan. 27; followed by the legendary “Swan Lake” on Thursday, Feb. 20; and the classic tale “The Sleeping Beauty” on Thursday, March 20. The renowned Royal Ballet, based at the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden, is led by Director Kevin O'Hare and features a wide-ranging repertory showcasing the great classical ballets as well as the new works choreographed by Sir Frederick Ashton, Sir Kenneth MacMillan and the foremost choreographers of today. Previous ballets in the series included 2013's “Don Quixote,” “Alice's Adventures in Wonderland” and “The Nutcracker” concluding the 2013 series on Dec. 17, 2013.

Moises Kaufman's Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde continues the Hilberry Theatre's 51st season in Midtown Detroit. The series-now in its seventh year at Carnegie-has garnered a reputation for its creative and diverse programming, with frequent collaborations between Yale's distinguished faculty and its exceptional network of current students and alumni.

In Mahler's mighty 'Resurrection' symphony, he dramatically addresses life-and-death issues as only he could-'one is battered to the ground and then raised on angels' wings to the highest heights.' CSO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni opens the 2013-14 season by leading the Columbus Symphony Chorus, featured guest vocalists Dominique Labelle (soprano) and Sasha Cooke (mezzo-soprano), and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, including an off-stage brass ensemble echoing the last judgement from another world. This will also be the official debut of Jean-Sebastien Roy as the CSO's new concertmaster.

Thrillpeddlers announces their annual Halloween Extravaganza Shocktoberfest 14: Jack the Ripper - An Evening of Horror, Madness, Spanking and Song Commemorating the 125th Anniversary of the Jack The Ripper Murders in London. Thrillpeddlers presents its 4th and final preview performance of Shocktoberfest 14 on Sept. 30, the very date that police received the letter that coined the name 'Jack the Ripper' and the case's double-murder occurred.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra officially welcomes its new Music Director, Louis Langrée, with an inaugural concert program on November 8-10, 2013 that honors the Orchestra's rich history and ushers in an exciting new era for the CSO. Dr. Maya Angelou, one of the most inspiring voices of our time, will narrate Copland's iconic Lincoln Portrait, a work that received its world premiere by the CSO in 1942. The inaugural program, conducted by Mr. Langrée and taking place at Cincinnati's historic Music Hall, also features Beethoven's enormously popular Fifth Symphony, which was featured during the CSO's first season in 1895, and Jennifer Higdon's exhilarating On a Wire, a recent work co-commissioned by the Orchestra.
