Wheater, Artistic Director of The Joffrey Ballet, is proud to announce the company's 2011-2012 season, titled New Generation, which will launch with a Joffrey Premiere, the evening-length Don Quixote by Yuri Possokhov, October 12 - 23, 2011, followed by the timeless holiday classic, Robert Joffrey's The Nutcracker, December 8 - 27, 2011.

Godunov Set for THIRTEEN's GREAT PERFORMANCES, 2/13

The Metropolitan Opera's new production of Mussorgsky's Boris Godunov starring René Pape as Boris and conducted by Valery Gergiev, will air on THIRTEEN's Great Performances Sunday, February 13 at 12 p.m. ET on PBS (check local listings). (In New York, THIRTEEN will air the program Thursday, February 10 at 8 p.m. ET.) Stephen Wadsworth directs the company's first new production of the opera since 1974. The program was originally seen live in movie theaters on October 23, 2010 as part of the groundbreaking The Met: Live in HD series, which transmits live performances to more than 1500 movie theaters and performing arts centers in 46 countries around the world.

Body and Spirit: Tibetan Medical Paintings, an exhibition of 64 Tibetan medical paintings (also known as tangkas) from the American Museum of Natural History's collection, opens Tuesday, January 25 in the Museum's fourth-floor Audubon Gallery, and will run through July 17, 2011.

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) today announced the selections for the 2010 Next Link Project, NYMF's primary writer service program. The Next Link Project empowers emerging musical theatre writing teams as both artists and entrepreneurs by providing the training and relationships needed to help them move their musicals from readings to fully-realized productions and to advance their careers by maximizing the exposure they receive in the Festival. Twelve of the Festival's full production slots are reserved for participants in The Next Link Project.
