The San Francisco Early Music Society's 2013-14 concert series comes to a close next month with a program of love songs and consorts performed by the Farallon Recorder Quartet with soprano Jennifer Paulino and lutenist John Lenti. Titled Amaryllis, Farallon's concert features a variety of Renaissance music from across Europe that explores the possibilities for recorder consort, lute and voice. Farallon performs today, March 14 - 16 in Palo Alto, Berkeley and San Francisco.

The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University, under the leadership of Diane Paulus, Artistic Director and William Russo, Managing Director; announced today the company for the last production of its 2013/14 Season, THE TEMPEST, adapted and directed by Aaron Posner and Teller from the play by William Shakespeare, with magic by Teller, music by Tom Waits and Kathleen Brennan, and movement by Matt Kent of Pilobolus.

This just in! New York City Center's acclaimed Encores! Off-Center series, under the artistic direction of Jeanine Tesori, will return this summer for a second season of landmark Off-Broadway musicals. The season opens with Jonathan Larson's tick, tick… BOOM!, June 25 - 28, starring Lin-Manuel Miranda and Karen Olivo, directed by Oliver Butler, and continues with a one-night only performance of Randy Newman'sFaust: The Concert, with Randy Newman as the Devil, directed by Thomas Kail, on July 1. Pump Boys and Dinettes, withbook, music and lyrics by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann , directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford, wraps up the season, running July 16 - 19. Chris Fenwick is the Encores! Off-Center music director.

The Public Theater announced the line-up today for the 2014 free Shakespeare in the Park season, continuing a 52-year tradition of free theater in Central Park. Since 1962, over five million people have enjoyed more than 150 free productions of Shakespeare and other classical works and musicals at the Delacorte Theater. Conceived by founder Joe Papp as a way to make great theater accessible to all, The Public's free Shakespeare in the Park continues to be the bedrock of the Company's mission to increase access and engage the community. This summer, free Shakespeare in the Park will feature a comedy and a tragedy with Jack O'Brien directing MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and Daniel Sullivan directing KING LEAR.

Utah Opera Artistic Director Christopher McBeth today announced Utah Opera's 2014-15 season. The company's 37th season will feature four productions between October 2014 and May 2015, including the company premieres of Georges Bizet's The Pearl Fishers and Igor Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress. The season will also feature the debut of Utah Symphony's Music Director Thierry Fischer in his first Utah Opera conducting role, leading The Rake's Progress.
