The 23rd Annual HOT!, the NYC Celebration of Queer Culture, will run July 5th through August 2nd at Dixon Place. The world's longest-running LGBTQ Performance Festival, HOT! offers theater, music, dance, puppetry, performance art and homoeroticism for the whole family! HOT! is the pioneering celebration of queer performance and culture - and the oldest annual festival of its kind in the world. Dixon Place is proud that HOT! serves as the model for other queer festivals across the globe and has become a performance destination for emerging talent in the LGBTQ community.

Chicago Humanities Festival Announces Added Presenters to the 25th Anniversary Fall Festival

Today the Chicago Humanities Festival (CHF) announced confirmed presenters added to the 25th Anniversary Fall Festival, which will explore the theme of Journeys, Oct. 25-Nov. 9, 2014. They include New York Times op-ed columnist David Brooks, author and editor Roxane Gay, filmmaker Guy Maddin, jazz vocalist Rene Marie, comedian and Wait Wait... Don't Tell Me! panelist Paula Poundstone, and former Brown University president Ruth Simmons. A complete schedule will be released in August at chicagohumanities.org/journeys.

The Manhattan School of Music Symphony will be making its Carnegie Hall debut on the stage of Stern Auditorium on Sunday, April 13, at 2:00 p.m. That afternoon, Leonard Slatkin will conduct a program that opens with Roberto Sierra's Fandangos, and also includes Modest Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, orchestrated by Maurice Ravel, and arranged by Maestro Slatkin. A concert highlight will be a performance of Leonard Bernstein's Serenade after Plato's Symposium, featuring violinist Glenn Dicterow. This concert also serves as a tribute to Mr. Dicterow who is in his final season as the New York Philharmonic's Concertmaster.

Everyman Theatre has announced the directors attached to each of its six productions in the 2012/13 season. Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi will helm two productions during the landmark season, including August: Osage County, which will be the first production at Everyman's new location on Fayette Street in January, 2013.
