In March 2014, Juilliard Dances Repertory presents repertory works by acclaimed choreographers Eliot Feld, Juilliard alumnus Lar Lubovitch, and Twyla Tharp. Juilliard dancers perform Concerto Six Twenty-Two by Lar Lubovitch; Baker's Dozen by Twyla Tharp; and The Jig is Up by Eliot Feld. All three dances were choreographed between 1979 and 1986, and Juilliard dancers will have the opportunity to learn the dances through intensive work with two of the choreographers - Eliot Feld and Lar Lubovitch - and with Shelley Washington, an original member of the cast of Twyla Tharp's work.

Esteemed American composer, musician, educator, recording artist and philosopher Anthony Braxton will celebrate his 69th birthday with a series of premieres, performances and events encompassing every facet of his decades-long career, from improvisational pieces with small ensembles to full-scale orchestral works and operatic compositions. Taking a cue from Braxton's 'Tri-Axium' philosophical writings exploring the 'partials' of his life's work-music (sound logic) systems, thought (philosophical) systems, and ritual and ceremonial (belief) systems-the decision to celebrate his 69th birthday publicly (a number divisible by three) is a natural one. The season will pair rare performances of past compositions with premieres and recordings of new work by the prolific MacArthur Fellow, Doris Duke Performing Artist and recently-named NEA Jazz Master, simultaneously paying tribute to Braxton's career so far and looking forward to what's to come.

Five decades later and still blazing new trails, Meredith Monk began preparation for her Fiftieth Year celebration with the January 29 announcement of her appointment as the 2014/15 Richard and Barbara Debs Composer's Chair at Carnegie Hall. Her spring calendar, a prelude to her 50th anniversary events, is crammed with New York, national and international performances, record and CD releases, workshops and residencies designed to showcase Monk's groundbreaking work past and present.

Next season's innovative choreographers are Juilliard alumnus Takehiro Ueyama (1st Year Dancers); Brian Brooks (2nd Year Dancers); and Juilliard alumnus Darrell Grand Moultrie (3rd Year Dancers).

Mills performed with MADCO from 1981-1987. Subsequently, he was a member of MOMIX and The ERick Hawkins Dance Company and has performed and choreographed independently since 1990. Since 2000, he has frequently returned to St. Louis to create works for MADCO. In this program, MADCO will offer three of his works, one being a world premiere, and an audience favorite danced by Mr. Mills that was choreographed by Alan Boeding.

Boston Playwrights' Theatre (BPT) announced its 32nd season today, which will feature new work by three of its award-winning alumni playwrights. The line-up includes Burning by Ginger Lazarus, Windowmen by Steven Barkhimer, and Absence by Peter M. Floyd. All three writers are based in Boston.

For the first time, Older & Reckless invites guest curator Michael Caldwell to program this special series of inter-generational works. Edition #29 of Older and Reckless runs tonight, May 16 to 18 at the Dancemakers Centre for Creation.
