First published in 2006, The Story of Hollywood was the recipient of the National Best Books Award 2007, and was also a Film, TV, Radio IPPY Silver Medal Winner 2007. Leonard Maltin has given the book his highest recommendation, and Los Angeles magazine calls The Story of Hollywood the best book on the neighborhood to come out this decade.

When a curious journalist moves to a small Midwestern town in 1909 he's captivated by his unusual next door neighbor, gubernatorial candidate David Beasley. Is Beasley crazy or does he just have more imaginary friends than we can count? Brimming with hope and heart, this holiday tale will charm your whole family with its surprising twists. Adapted for the stage by C.W. Munger from the 1909 novel by Booth Tarkington, this regional premiere is directed by Scott Nolte. Beasley's Christmas Party opened on November 25 and runs through December 30.

As forbidden love blossoms between them, the young lovers are forced to face death or part forever. Bailiwick Chicago partners with the modern dance company Deeply Rooted Dance Theater to bring this re-envisioned and exhilarating production to Chicago audiences for a limited run.
