'The New World Symphony: Dvorak in America' is a puppet and object theater work examining the influence of African-American and Native American music upon the great 19th-century Czech composer Antonin Dvorak (1841-1904). The piece is written and directed by Vit Horejš and performed by Czechoslovak American Marionette Theatre. It traces how Dvorak helped America accept its beautiful multicultural musical traditions by his enthusiasm for African-American and Native American music during his short but influential time in the USA. La MaMa Theatre will present the play's world premiere run March 10 to 27, 2016 in its Ellen Stewart Theatre, 66 East 4th Street (East Village). Composer and Musical Director is saxophonist James Brandon Lewis.

Michael Crawford, the legendary star of stage and screen will return to the London Stage in a new musical, based on the famed novel THE GO-BETWEEN. According to Baz Bamigboye of the UK Daily Mail, the production will begin performances on May 27th at the Apollo Theatre in London's West End.

Now that 2015 is squarely in the rearview mirror, and everyone is back to work after the holidays, it is time to take a look at some of the best films of the past year. As was the case with my Top 15 TV Shows of 2015 list, this is not intended to be a comprehensive list. I am one man, and I have not yet seen every major movie released last year. However, as I continue to work through screeners and upcoming screenings (I live in Orlando, so not all of the awards-bait has been released here yet), I will count down the top 2015 releases that I saw during the calendar year. Notable omissions are BRIDGE OF SPIES, THE REVENANT, THE DANISH GIRL, and CONCUSSION, all of which I hope to see by the end of the week.

GRAMMY award-winner Kenny Rogers brings his Once Again It's Christmas Tour, featuring Linda Davis, to Valley Forge Casino Resort (1160 First Avenue) tonight, December 18, 2015. Nineteen years after performing the farewell concert for the original Valley Forge Music Fair, Rogers returns for the Fair's grand revival. Rogers will perform holiday favorites, plus many of the 24 number one singles the country-pop singer has recorded throughout his 50-plus-year career. Doors will open at 7:00pm, with the show starting at 8:00pm. Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster for $59.00 to $99.00 each.

Randy Harrison, best known for his portrayal of Justin in the Showtime drama 'Queer as Folk,' will step into the role of the Emcee while Andrea Goss, a veteran of Roundabout's CABARET on Broadway will return to the role of Sally Bowles when the tour premieres in Providence, RI at the Providence Performing Arts Center with performances beginning Tuesday, January 26.
