Babes With Blades Theatre Company (BWBTC) continues its 20th Anniversary Season: Origins with the Chicago premiere of The Good Fight, playing at City Lit Theater, 1020 W. Bryn Mawr Ave., January 6 February 17, 2018. Developed in 2011 through BWBTC's Fighting Words program under the title Deeds Not Words, the play is written by Anne Bertram, executive director of Theatre Unbound, a Minneapolis/St. Paul company devoted to work by and about women. Elizabeth Lovelady, a Jeff Award-winning artist based in Chicago, directs The Good Fight, which features combat by Violence Designer Gaby Labotka.

Music at Kohl Mansion has announced the lineup for its 35th Anniversary season of chamber concerts in Burlingame's historic Kohl Mansion, opening Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 7 pm. The series will feature three string quartets; a piano trio; a piano-clarinet duo; a piano recital; a string octet; and a string quintet with clarinet. Highlights include four returning audience favorite ensembles, four exciting Music at Kohl debuts, free pre-concert Master Classes with Young Chamber Musicians and captivating pre-concert talks with popular Musicologist Kai Christiansen, as well as special guests, historical features and surprise treats.

This concert is being broadcast live on Classical 105.9 FM WQXR, and streamed onwqxr.org and carnegiehall.org/wqxr as part of the Carnegie Hall Live series. The Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University and The Baltimore Museum of Art (BMA), in cooperation with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs, will present Mark Bradford as the representative for the United States at La Biennale di Venezia 57th International Art Exhibition, on view from May 13 to November 26, 2017. Los Angeles-based Bradford, a leading light in contemporary art, will create new works in a variety of media-presented alongside existing work-for Tomorrow Is Another Day, co-curated by Christopher Bedford, BMA Dorothy Wagner Wallis Director and commissioner for the project; and Katy Siegel, BMA Senior Programming and Research Curator.

The Music Institute of Chicago announces the 2016-17 season of its Faculty and Guest Artist Series, showcasing noteworthy keyboard artists, illustrious alumni, and the legacy of Louis Armstrong. All but one of the concerts take place at the historic Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Avenue in downtown Evanston. In March, the Music Institute presents one special performance at its partner venue, Fourth Presbyterian Church, 126 E. Chestnut Street in downtown Chicago.
