MCC Theater has announced the extension of the American premiere of Penelope Skinner's celebrated play The Village Bike, starring indie film actress Greta Gerwig, and featuring direction by Sam Gold. The production is now scheduled at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) through Sunday, July 13, 2014. It was previously scheduled through June 28th. Tickets for the added performances are on sale now.

The South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC) announces Broadway and Cabaret legend Barbara Cook will appear at its annual Gala on Sat., May 31. Ms. Cook's highly anticipated performance will take place at 9 p.m. following an elegant dinner in the SOPAC Loft at 6 p.m., coupled with an online and live auction of unique and precious gifts and experiences. Families will join the celebration during the day with a Super-Hero workshop by Kidville at 10:30 a.m. and a free performance by fun and funky musician Bobby Beetcut at noon. Seating is available for the gala dinner and Ms. Cook's performance, or for the performance only. The gala is being presented in support of SOPAC's Arts Education and Programming.

MCC THEATER announced today that the New York Premiere of John Pollono's Small Engine Repair will now play through December 21, 2013. Keegan Allen, James Badge Dale, playwright/actor John Pollono, and James Ransone star in the production directed by longtime MCC collaborator Jo Bonney (MCC's The Break of Noon, Fat Pig). Small Engine Repair at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) had its official opening night on November 20, 2013 and was previously extended through December 15, 2013. The show must close December 21st to make way for the next Lortel tenant.

Billy Crystal will return to Broadway this fall for a 9-week-only limited engagement of his Tony Award-winning, record-breaking play 700 Sundays. This will mark the final engagement of this production. MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) just announced that two-time Tony Award winner Judith Light (The Assembled Parties, Other Desert Cities) has been elected to the MCC Board of Directorseffective immediately. Ms. Light began her relationship with MCC in 1999 with a universally-acclaimed performance in Margaret Edson's Wit, and most recently in March 2013 was the honoree at MCC's annual Miscast gala celebrating her illustrious screen and stage career; her appearances in MCC productions, which in addition to Wit includes 2005's Colder Than Here; and her impassioned advocacy of several causes, most especially Arts in Education.
