The 'Alley Theatre @ UH' season begins with Betty Buckley, Hallie Foote, Annalee Jefferies and Veanne Cox in award-winning Texas playwright Horton Foote's The Old Friends, a Southwestern premiere.

The art of the dance movie poster is celebrated at Jacob's Pillow this summer with GOTTA DANCE!, an extraordinary exhibit of vintage posters from throughout the world. The posters, which feature stars such as Gene Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Cyd Charisse, Eleanor Powell, and Astaire & Rogers, were selected from the personal collection of one of the genre's foremost experts, award-winning campaign designer and producer Mike Kaplan. GOTTA DANCE! includes a special six-poster salute to Marge and Gower Champion on the occasion of Marge Champion's 95th birthday.

Dallas Summer Musicals, Inc. (DSM) announced their 2014/2015 season of shows at Fair Park Thursday June 12. Heavy rain forecasts moved the 75-Year kickoff event from the Fair Park Band Shell where DSM first performed their shows to the nearby Centennial Building. DSM has been bringing the Best of Broadway to North Texas audiences with the finest in professional live theatrical entertainment since 1941.

Staged by PNB Founding Artistic Director Francia Russell, PNB's production is an enchanted landscape where misunderstandings and mayhem weave tangled paths through the opulent layers of Martin Pakledinaz's designs and Balanchine's marvelously crafted partnerings. All ends well in Act II's wedding festivities with the recognition of ideal love, tenderly portrayed in an exquisite pas de deux. The San Francisco Gate writes that Marc Platt, a dancer who appeared onstage and on-screen in OKLAHOMA! and as the fourth brother in 1954's SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS on Broadway, has passed away. He was 100.

Following their critically acclaimed world premiere in December the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet returns with an evening of dance at the Peter Jay Sharp Theatre at Symphony Space (2537 Broadway on the southwest corner of 95th Street and Broadway) Friday, March 7 at 7:30PM and Saturday, March 8 at 7:30PM. This 20-member company, under the artistic direction of Gelsey Kirkland and Michael Chernov present their first mixed program including 'Raymonda Suite,' 'Leaves are Fading' Pas de Deux, 'Ballebille' from Napoli, 'Flames of Paris' Pas de Deux, 'Pas De Quatre' and 'Cavalry Halt.'
