Holding its sixth edition over the midnight sun weekend with 72 hours of non-stop sunlight next month, Iceland's Secret Solstice has revealed its final lineup for this June 21-23, 2019 at Laugardalur, Reykjavik, Iceland in addition to announcing its new off-site after-hours programming, Ragnarök. Three Cat Productions has begun readings this week on Sasha Dune, a new play by Lisa Scott and the first of seven being workshopped as part of Three Cat's Chicago New Work Festival. The players will begin rehearsals this week at the Berger Park Coach House Theater at 6205 N. Sheridan Rd, Chicago, IL 60660. The final reading will be at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30. Tickets are $10. All rehearsals are open and the public is encouraged to attend for a suggested donation.

With less than three months until Iceland's Secret Solstice celebrates its fifth anniversary, the midnight sun music festival has revealed its phase three lineup for June 21-24, 2018 in the capital city of Reykjavik. Leading the announcement additions, Secret Solstice calls upon funk legend George Clinton and his Parliament Funkadelic collective, seminal Icelandic music group GusGus (DJ set), Diynamic DJ/production duo Kollektiv Turmstrasse, Italian techno maestro Marco Faraone, Dirtybird's J.Phlip and more. Bolstering its contingent of Icelandic artists, the festival welcomes Gísli Pálmi, Joey Christ, Sturla Atlas, Una Stef, Young Karin and more to the bill. In just over two weeks, Iceland's Secret Solstice festival will again take place in the world's most northerly capital city, Reykjavik, for its fifth edition during 96 hours of continuous sunlight from June 21-24, 2018. Bringing a stacked lineup, Secret Solstice will be headlined by Slayer who are on their Final World Tour, as well as Stormzy, Gucci Mane, Bonnie Tyler, Clean Bandit, GusGus, Dubfire, Lee Burridge, Skream and more top international and Icelandic acts across rock, hip-hop and electronic music. For the second year running, Secret Solstice is pleased to present Be-At.TV as an official live streaming partner as well as the debut of the Red Bull Silent Disco and a special FIFA World Cup live viewing party as Iceland takes on Nigeria. Also announced are the introduction of RFID wristbands as the first festival in Iceland to go cashless. The festival's green initiatives for 2018 which include the use of 100% geothermal energy and a total plastic straw ban on-site will make it one of the most environmentally-friendly events of its size in the world.

On February 24th, Alley Repertory Theater will open BUYER & CELLAR by Jonathan Tolins, a comedy about the idiosyncrasies of the real Barbra Streisand, starring Jodi Eichelberger. Directed by Alley Rep Artistic Director Buffie Main, BUYER & CELLAR will run for three weekends at Visual Arts Collective with doors opening at 7:00 pm and the show beginning at 8:00 pm.
