The second phase of monumental installation, Eyewitness by photojournalist B.A. Van Sise will be unveiled at the Museum of Jewish Heritage - A Living Memorial to the Holocaust on Wednesday, May 10. The current installation consists of 20 photographs of Holocaust survivors who live in New York City at large scale (between 4 and 13 feet high) filling the windows of the Museum's facade. Phase 2 will consist of 11 portraits that will be placed in windows on the third floor opposite James Carpenter's Reflection Passage, a permanent installation that provides a contemplative space as people move through the Museum.

Waterwell announced today the revival of the Blueprint Specials, a series of lost WWII-era musicals composed principally by Broadway legend Frank Loesser to be presented in association with the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum and The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival. During the final month of the popular Smithsonian exhibition What's Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones -- closing Monday, January 19 -- Museum of the Moving Image will be celebrating animation in its galleries, theaters, and classrooms. In conjunction with the Chuck Jones exhibition, this holiday period, the Museum is presenting daily screenings of classic Chuck Jones cartoons and "Stop Motion Shapes," family animation workshops inspired by the legendary animator. In addition, the Museum will present the contemporary animated features Coraline (in 3-D), Ratatouille, Toy Story 2, The Wind Rises, and others.

The Berlin Candy Bomber, Col. Gail Halvorsen, will be among members of the Civil Air Patrol receiving a Congressional Gold Medal for their service during World War II. The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest award Congress can give to a civilian.

It's your classic story: Boy-meets-alien, boy-loses-alien, boy-gets-alien, and everyone sings-and-dances. Billed as an intergalactic musical, 'It Happened in Roswell' is set on the site of a flying saucer landing at Roswell, New Mexico on July 3, 1949. This new musical will have a limited run this August at the NoHo Arts Center.
