GATES OF GOLD, a new comedic drama by Frank McGuinness will hold its American Premiere at 59E59 Theaters. Previews begin Thursday, February 19, 2009. The official opening will be on Sunday, March 1, 2009. Produced by Artists Theatre Group, Inc., Warren Baker and Sally Jacobs, the production is directed by Kent Paul. Written by acclaimed Irish author Frank McGuinness, who earned a Tony Award nomination for Someone Who'll Watch Over Me, and received a Tony Award for best revival in 1997 for A Doll's House, GATES OF GOLD is an acerbic duel between Hilton Edwards and Miche?l MacLiamm?ir, fashionable and eloquent theatrical trailblazers who founded Dublin's Gate Theatre. GATES OF GOLD is funny, witty, deeply moving and a vibrant celebration of art, love, and, finally, life itself. This production marks the American premiere of GATES OF GOLD, which starred Alan Howard in Dublin and William Gaunt in the West End. Frank McGuinness was born in Buncrana, Co. Donegal, lives in Dublin and lectures in English at University College, Dublin. 'This is an uproarious and affectionate valentine to Florence Foster Jenkins, the 'first lady of the sliding scales,' press notes state. Edward Albee's beloved classic WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF? starring Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin will appear in Chicago for a limited engagement as part of its five-city, five-month national tour. The award-winning and critically acclaimed production will play the LaSalle Bank Theatre (18 W. Monroe St.) from March 27 through April 8, 2007.

Bill Kenwright and Marla Rubin announce that they will present the Almeida Theatre production of FESTEN, the hugely successful London play about a family with a dark secret, on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre (239 W. 45th St.), with performances beginning Thursday, March 23. Larry Bryggman, Michael Hayden, Ali MacGraw and Julianna Margulies have been cast in the Broadway production. Directed by Rufus Norris, in a dramatization by David Eldridge from the Danish 1998 film, FESTEN will have its official press opening on Sunday, April 9.

NORA, legendary film director Ingmar Bergman's adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic play, A Doll's House, is coming to Manhattan for the first time in its 25-year history.

The star of stage and screen will appear in the new production which opens in February 2006.
