This afternoon, I was given the opportunity to speak with Broadway veterans Angie Schworer and Sara Gettelfinger, stars of Reagle Music Theatre's upcoming production of CHICAGO, about their introduction to the world of acting, their experiences with the greats of Broadway, and their complete love and devotion to the theatre world.
After performing 73 shows and counting, Aaron Carter brings “The After Party” tour across the nation. “The After Party” is a reference to his well known record Aaron's Party (Come Get It) released in 2000.
The Public Theater announced today that Kevin Kline will reprise his Tony Award-winning role of The Pirate King with Glenn Close as Ruth, Eric Idle as the Sergeant, and Martin Short as Major-General Stanley in the one-night-only concert performance of THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE for The Public's annual gala. Co-chaired by Sir Howard Stringer, Arielle Tepper Madover, and Renee Beaumont, this unforgettable summer evening will also honor the late Nora Ephron who was a long-time board member and consummate lover of The Public's Shakespeare in the Park.
The Country Playhouse will present Seussical: The Musical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty on its Cerwinske main stage for three weekends only, June 14 - 29. The eleven performances are on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m., plus one Saturday matinee on Saturday, June 29 at 2:00 p.m.

The Muhlenberg Summer Music Theatre festival at Muhlenberg College announces the lineup for its 2013 summer season - the 33rd in the festival's history. The season will feature "Crazy for You," the musical based on the music of George and Ira Gershwin; Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar"; and Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's "Seussical," the Dr. Seuss musical for young audiences.

Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, On Your Toes will have guest music direction by Encores! founding music director Rob Fisher and will play seven performances, from May 8 - 12 at New York City Center, W. 55th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). The "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" ballet, originally choreographed by George Balanchine, will be staged by Susan Pilarre, who served as a Ballet Mistress of the show's 1983 Broadway Revival.
Hartford Stage announces The Summer of Seuss, summer youth education programs. Young actors ages 3-17 can join Hartford Stage teaching artists for full day or half day classes in one, two or four week programs in multiple techniques including improvisation, storytelling, dance, and arts and crafts. All classes (except Summer Bookends) take place at Classical Magnet School at 85 Woodland Street in Hartford. Summer Bookends will take place at the Hartford Stage Rehearsal Studios at 942 Main Street in Hartford.
SEUSSICAL, the exuberant children's musical, will be presented from April 24 through June 1 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane. The whimsical production, based on over 14 beloved stories by children's author Dr. Seuss, is Directed and Choreographed by Jeff Award-winner Rachel Rockwell, with Musical Direction by Michael Mahler. Drury Lane Theatre also offers families the special opportunity to meet the cast at breakfast with the SEUSSICAL characters on select performance dates, with a kid-friendly buffet-style menu.

The Taylor High School Fine Arts Department proudly present Seussical by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty. From the tiny land of Who-Ville to the Jungle of Nool, Seuss's timeless tales leap from page to stage. Seussical first opened on Broadway in the fall of 2000. In 2004, it was reworked by Theatreworks USA, streamlining the story and retooling some of the songs and dialogue. The new version has enjoyed huge success across two US tours, a run in London's West End, and in children's theaters across the country, including NWCT, which previously produced the show in 2006.
