This year, the Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) celebrates its Twelfth Anniversary with a historic move to Atlantic City from Asbury Park. The festival, founded in 2003, runs from April 3-6, 2014 in various locales in Atlantic City with financial, marketing and logistical support from the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.

Following its hugely successful Without Walls (WoW) Festival last October, La Jolla Playhouse announces the latest production in its acclaimed site-based theatre series: El Henry, written by and starring Culture Clash's Herbert Siguenza, directed by San Diego REPertory Theatre Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse. Presented in association with San Diego REP, the show will run June 14 - 29 at SILO in downtown San Diego's Makers Quarter. Performances run Tuesday through Sunday at 7:30pm.

Alley Theatre presents the world premiere of a new comedy by Theresa Rebeck, Fool. In Rebeck's new comedy, two kings get together and place a wager on their fools - a jester competition, and the funniest one gets to keep his head. Two evil minions have a lot to say about this, but not as much as the kitchen wench. And what's the queen been up to all night? A dramatical comical farcical tragical play about power, love and laughter, set in a medieval kitchen. Adult Language, Adult Situations, Beheadings.

On Friday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. in Weill Recital Hall, violinist Pamela Frank, violist Nobuko Imai, and cellist Clemens Hagen perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Goldberg Variations, BWV 988, arranged for strings by Dmitry Sitkovetsky. Originally composed for harpsichord Bach's work takes listeners on an aural journey through 30 variations of a single aria in an array of styles and forms. Named after harpsichordist, Johann Gottlieb Goldberg, the probable first performer, this work remains a monument of virtuosity, now given a refreshing update in this singular arrangement for strings.

The international festival features contemporary theater works offering 13 fully staged productions, 4 theater-focused installations, 3 readings of new works, and 2 forums. From Olivier and Tony Award-winning puppetry to innovative perspectives on old classics, a diverse showcase of theatrical expression will be represented by countries spanning the globe including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, England, France, Iceland, Iraq, Israel, Japan, Kuwait, Mexico, Pakistan, Palestine, Scotland, South Africa, Sudan, Syria, and the United States.

Yuri Temirkanov & St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra to Perform at Carnegie Hall, 2/13 & 15

This February, Principal Conductor Yuri Temirkanov leads the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra in two performances in Carnegie Hall's Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. On Thursday, February 13 at 8:00 p.m., Mr. Temirkanov leads the orchestra, Russia's oldest symphonic ensemble, in a unique concert featuring Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor, Op. 23, with lauded Russian pianist Denis Kozhukhin as soloist. In addition, the program includes excerpts from Rimsky-Korsakov's nationalistic 1907 opera, The Legend of the Invisible City of Kitezh, and Giya Kancheli's 2000 work …al Niente. On Saturday, February 15 at 8:00 p.m., the orchestra and Mr. Temirkanov return, performing Prokofiev's folk music-inspired Violin Concerto No. 2 in G Minor, Op. 63, featuring acclaimed violinist Julia Fischer. On the second half of the concert, the orchestra plays Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 in E Minor, Op. 27.
