Well, next up in decluttering my apartment is clearing out the big, tall stack of different Guys and Dolls CDs I've spent a few decades collecting. I think I could hack this particular task without any tears (or maybe like you know without having to blog about it) were it not for that gorgeous black square with the orange and yellow title letters thrown into the air alongside perfect pair of cartoon dice. 1992 Grammy Award-winning New Broadway Cast Recording, it's gonna be hard to leave you, baby.

Two-time Grammy-nominated and millions-selling progressive music titans Dream Theater have released another song from their recently announced 14th studio album, Distance Over Time. “Fall Into The Light” is the second new song from the album slated for worldwide release on February 22, 2019. The new song builds upon the excitement that the band created in December with the release of the first track from Distance Over Time, “Untethered Angel,” that has been viewed over 1.5 million times in 4 weeks since its release. “Fall Into The Light” is a riff-driven, epic musical experience that takes the listener on a 7-minute emotional journey, something Dream Theater does all too well. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full cast and creative team for Paradise Square: An American Musical. The world premiere is helmed by acclaimed director Moises Kaufman, with choreography by the legendary Bill T. Jones and a book by Marcus Gardley, Craig Lucas, and Larry Kirwan. Music by Jason Howland and Larry Kirwan, with lyrics by Nathan Tysen, and based on the songs of Stephen Foster. Paradise Square is produced by special arrangement with Garth H. Drabinsky in association with Peter LeDonne and Teatro Proscenium Limited Partnership.

Musical Theatre's West's acclaimed "Broadway in Concert" series returns with an exciting line-up of stars from the Great White Way! Opening the series at the intimate Beverly O'Neill Theatre at Long Beach Convention Center, is Broadway's Sam Harris (The Producers, The Life) performing Let Me Sing: An Evening of Broadway, Ballads, and Blues on November 18, 7pm. The series continues with performances by David Burnham (Wicked and Light in the Piazza) & Tami Tappan Damiano (Cyrano and Miss Saigon) in A Broadway Romance (February 3, 2019), and Teri Bibb (Phantom of the Opera and She Loves Me) in Once Upon a Song: A Tribute to the Ladies of the Silver Screen on March 24, 2019. Rooftop Films is proud to announce our feature film slate for the 2018 Rooftop Films Summer Series, presented by SundanceTV. This year's series will take place May 19th to August 25th featuring more than 45 outdoor screenings in more than a dozen spectacular outdoor venues, with live music, filmmaker appearances, and special enhanced screenings of the best, new, independent films from around the world. The open-air festivities will kick off on Saturday, May 19th, with “This is What We Mean by Short Films,” a collection of some of the most innovative short films of the past year. That screening will take place in the newest Rooftop Films venue, Green-Wood Cemetery.

Smalls Change (Meditations Upon Ageing), the debut solo album from Derek Smalls, the bass force formerly of the fabled heavy metal band formerly known as Spinal Tap, is premiering in its entirety via NPR Music's First Listen.
