Breaking News: MISS SAIGON Finds Its Complete Broadway Cast; Rehearsals Begin!

Rehearsals begin Thursday, January 12 for Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON, which will return to its original home, The Broadway Theater (1681 Broadway) beginning performancesWednesday, March 1. The original production of MISS SAIGON opened at the same theater on April 11, 1991 and played there through January 28, 2001. Directed by Laurence Connor (the recent hit revival of LES MISERABLES, School of Rock), the Broadway return of MISS SAIGON will feature four of its London stars, Jon Jon Briones as The Engineer, Eva Noblezada as Kim, Alistair Brammer as Chris and Rachelle Ann Go as Gigi. The cast also includes Katie Rose Clarke as Ellen, Nicholas Christopher as John, Devin Ilaw as Thuy. Lianah Sta. Ana will play the role of Kim at certain performances. MISS SAIGON has its official opening Thursday, March 23. MISS SAIGON will play a limited engagement through January 13, 2018 before launching a North American tour later in the year.

Featuring the critically acclaimed work of Director Glenn Casale, this beloved tale of a young mermaid's coming-of-age adventure is told like never before. Previously announced casting includes Seattle's own Diana Huey as Ariel and Matthew Kacergis as Prince Eric, with Broadway's Jennifer Allen as Ursula andSteven Blanchard as King Triton. Melvin Abston, Connor Russell and Jamie Torcellini join the cast as Sebastian, Flounder and Scuttle. Happy Birthday Claude-Michel Schonberg! Schonberg is best known for his collaborations with the lyricist Alain Boublil. Thier stage musical version of Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, which opened at the Palais de Sports in Paris in 1980, opened to acclaim in London in 1985 and on Broadway in 1987. In 1989, their success continued with the musical Miss Saigon, which starred Lea Salonga and Jonathan Pryce. Schonberg's next project with Boublil was The Pirate Queen, a musical about the 16th century Irish pirate, chieftain and adventuress Grace O'Malley, which opened on Broadway on April 5 2007.
