The Stratford Festival lost one of its pioneers today. Douglas Rain died of natural causes early this morning at the age of 90 at St. Marys Memorial Hospital, just outside of Stratford, Ontario, the city in which he established his career, becoming one of the world's great classical actors.

HBO renews “The Deuce” for a third and final season, according to Variety.

American Bard Theater Company presents the New York City premiere of You Wouldn't Expect, a play written by Marilynn Barner Anselmi examining the staggering truths about the coercive influence of the government-sponsored eugenics program and its direct focus on poverty and race. Cezar Williams directs a cast of eight, including Cherie Danielle, Adiagha Faizah, Carl Fisk, Erin Gilbreth*, Ross G. Hewitt, Malikha Mallette, Okema T Moore*, and Atiya Yanique Taylor. Fifteen performances will be staged at The Chain Theater, 312 West 36th Street in New York City, from September 19-October 7, 2018.

The psychological thriller opens at Palm Beach Dramaworks on May 18 and continues through June 3, with specially priced previews on May 16 and 17.

The Centerpiece Gala will be the World Premiere of Drake Doremus' sci-fi romance Zoe starring Ewan McGregor, Lea Seydoux, Rashida Jones, and Theo James. The 2018 Tribeca Film Festival takes place April 18-29.

Criminal Girlfriends proudly announces that four shows have been added to the current run of its production of the world premiere of Fierce, an intensely funny, razor-sharp work by the award-winning playwright George F. Walker. Originally scheduled to close on March 3, the four additional shows run Wednesday March 7 through to Saturday March 10 at 8pm at Red Sandcastle Theatre in the wake of numerous rave reviews. New York Women in Film & Television has announced the honorees for this year's Muse Awards on December 14th: Laura Dern (actor), Judith Light (actor) and Amy Emmerich (Refinery29 CCO); Regina K. Scully (filmmaker and CEO of Artemis Rising Foundation) will receive the Loreen Arbus Changemaker Award; and the inaugural Nancy Malone Directing Award will be presented to groundbreaking filmmaker Julie Dash.

At its annual gala event, Celebrate Colburn, the Colburn School will honor renowned conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and acclaimed architect Frank Gehry with the Richard D. Colburn award, for their exemplary achievements and contributions to the worlds of classical music and the performing arts in Los Angeles and throughout the world. Celebrate Colburn takes place at Walt Disney Concert Hall on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at 7 p.m., followed by a post-performance dinner at a location to be announced.
