Lane Bradbury may have been born and raised as a Southern Belle in Georgia, and performed on Broadway, in films, and on television, but there's a Parisian chanteuse in her soul. Now 81, but with the energy of a performer half her age, the original 'Dainty June' in the 1959 Broadway production of Gypsy will present a cabaret program of classic French compositions in her new show, MON HISTOIRE EN CHANSONS FRANCAISES (My Story in French Songs) at Pangea (178 2nd Ave, between 11th and 12th Streets, NYC), on February 13 at 7 pm. 'I've had several Japanese people come up to me before and say, 'This is our story.' They were an older married couple, and I thought, 'Oh? This is a New York story, why do you say that?' And they said, 'Because, back in the late 50s early 60s, our villages were feuding, and they wouldn't allow us to marry. So there was this tension, but seeing the movie in 1961 made us say, 'Let's do it!' And we eloped.'

The Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture opens its 2019 Fall Season with a?oeA Salute to Richie Bonilla,a?? the long-time Latin Music Artist Manager, with a selection of artists he managed paying tribute in a star-studded concert on Saturday, October 12th at 7:30 PM in the Main Theater. There will be performances by the Puerto Rican singer/ songwriter and former Fania All-Star Ismael Miranda, singer Joe Bataan a?oeThe King of Latin Soul,a?? the Grammy Winning Cuban vocalist Albita, former Tito Puente vocalist Frankie Morales, timbalero Orlando Marin, known as a?oethe last Mambo King,a?? the highly energetic instrumental & vocal duo Los Hermanos Moreno, virtuoso flutist Connie Grossman and the Steven Oquendo Mambo Orchestra. Noted broadcaster Felipe Luciano will serve as Master of Ceremonies. A dance follows at 9:30 PM in the Hostos Café with DJ Brian Martínez spinning Salsa favorites.

The renaming of the theatre was dedicated to Stephen Sondheim, the greatest and best known artist in American musical theatre on his 80th birthday.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that composer and orchestrator Sid Ramin, best known for his work on West Side Story, has died, according to The New York Times. Ramin was 100 years old.

Point Park University's Pittsburgh Playhouse announced today its innovative new collaboration with award-winning entertainment production company RWS Entertainment Group (RWS) to produce compelling entertainment.

The play will be shown from March 21, 2019 until March 24, 2019.

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will pay homage to the glittering world of Hollywood musicals with Mad About Musicals!, a special month of programming celebrating timeless movie musicals such as The Wizard of Oz, Singin' in the Rain and Cabaret. TCM is once again partnering with Ball State University and Canvas to offer a free online multimedia course tied to this programming special about the history of the musical genre and its evolution with cultural and technological shifts. Blumenthal Performing Arts announces another extraordinary lineup for its upcoming 2018-19 PNC Broadway Lights season featuring eight new shows including six time 2017 Tony Award and 2018 Grammy Award winning Best Musical Dear Evan Hansen, Tony-winning Best Musical Revival Hello, Dolly! starring Broadway legend Betty Buckley and the hit Broadway musical Disney's Aladdin.

A new production of Playwright Neil Simon's beloved comedy BAREFOOT IN THE PARK, produced by Adrienne Visnic and directed by Brandon Baer strolls into LA's Lyric Hyperion Theatre with an all-star ensemble cast of five set for a limited run November 30 December 3.
