Disney's landmark musical event, THE LION KING will hold a children's open casting call for the roles of African lion cubs 'Young Simba' and 'Young Nala' on Saturday, October 24 beginning at 9AM at The National Black Theatre in Harlem (2031-33 Fifth Avenue @ 125th Street, NYC). Casting search is for the Broadway and Las Vegas productions and the North American touring company.

On October 4, 2009 alumni from Marymount Manhattan College (MMC) will take the stage of The Theresa Lang Theatre to honor Professor Emeritus J. William Bordeau, who passed away on July 25. The MMC community will be celebrating Professor Bordeau's life with a memorial from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the College, 221 East 71st Street in New York City. The celebration of Bordeau's life will also be broadcast LIVE on the Web at www.mmm.edu. A cocktail reception will follow from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in The Great Hall at the College.

Signature Theatre to Honor Sondheim April 27th

Signature will salute Mr. Sondheim at a black-tie Gala Celebration on Monday, April 27, 2009, in Washington, DC highlighted by a musical tribute, festive dinner, and dancing and inaugurate an annual honor to be known in future years as The Sondheim Award.

Asolo Repertory Theatre announces Tome' Cousin as Director/Choreographer for its 09-10 season production of Susan Stroman's Tony winning musical, Contact. Cousin performed in and helped to develop Contact as part of the original Lincoln Center ensemble, both off-Broadway and on, from 1999-2002. As Supervising Director for Susan Stroman Productions of Contact, he is the only person sanctioned by Stroman to direct the production.
