Broadway stars Lisa Howard (It Shoulda Been You) and John Bolton (A Christmas Story: The Musical) are joining the cast of AMERICAN SHOWSTOPPERS featuring Fred Barton & His Orchestra in 'An Evening with Cole Porter' next month.

AMERICAN SHOWSTOPPERS - featuring Fred Barton & His Orchestra and starring a cast of today's best Broadway performers - will present "An Evening with Cole Porter" at Pace University's Schimmel Center in New York on Friday, March 4 at 7:30 PM and then Kingsborough Community College's Goldstein Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, March 5 at 8:00 PM.  The cast of outstanding Broadway performers includes Beth Leavel (Tony Award winner for The Drowsy Chaperone), Sean McGibbon, Paula Leggett Chase, Damon Kirsche, Karen Murphy and Jesse Luttrell in addition to the Scott Thompson Dancers. The show is produced, orchestrated, conducted and hosted by Fred Barton with direction and choreography by Scott Thompson.

Director Cassey Kivnick has been chosen as the 2015-2016 Mike Ockrent Fellow on Jerry Mitchell's Gotta Dance. Ms. Kivnick's fellowship will last the entire length of the production process, with pre-production and rehearsals on Gotta Dance beginning in November 2015 and continuing on until the spring 2016 premiere on Broadway.  Ms. Kivnick will receive a $5000 award.

Vermont's Weston Playhouse Theatre Company is turning 80, and in anticipation of a remarkable 2-year celebration, it has unveiled the plans for its 2016 MainStage season in American Theatre magazine. Audiences can expect a line-up distinguished by groundbreaking partnerships, collaborations with major stars, and the Vermont Premiere of one of Broadway's longest-running hits. Producing Artistic Director Steve Stettler comments, 'We've pulled out all the stops for our 80th anniversary, and this sneak peek at the four productions that will grace the Playhouse stage is just the beginning.'

The internationally renowned singer, songwriter, and actor's baritone voice has taken the world by storm ever since his double-platinum debut self-titled album in 2001. His tour, Stages, at the Van Wezel on February 28, 2016, is a unique musical event featuring songs from the world's greatest musicals. In serendipitous fashion, Josh Groban is also an avid arts education philanthropist, making him the perfect star for the Van Wezel Foundation Gala which helps support the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall, its educational initiatives and programing. STAGES St. Louis welcomes back its red-hot award-winning smash hit The Full Monty! Featuring a powerful story with enduring characters, this hilarious, yet heartwarming musical comedy will run tonight, September 4, through October 4 at the Robert G. Reim theatre in Kirkwood. 

Rehearsals start this week at The 5th Avenue Theatre for the sweeping new musical, Waterfall, featuring Laura Griffith (Broadway: Sweet Smell of Success, The Light in the Piazza), Thom Sesma (Broadway: The Times They are A-Changin', Man of La Mancha), J. Elaine Marcos (Broadway: Annie, Priscilla Queen of the Desert), and Thai pop superstar Bie Sukrit. This epic new Broadway-bound musical love story features a distinguished international creative team and a cast of 20. Seattle is the second of two locales where this unique and exciting musical is being developed after completing a popular and critically successful run at the Pasadena Playhouse in June.

Directed by Jose Possi Neto and text by Miguel Falabella, this production celebrates the professional career of the star in theater and television.

The Pasadena Playhouse presents A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN. Conceived, written and directed by Randy Johnson, with choreography by Patricia Wilcox and musical direction by Tyler Evans. A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN stars Mary Bridget Davies, following her Tony Award nominated Broadway run. Pasadena native Kacee Clanton, also from the Broadway production of A NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN, will alternate the role of Janis Joplin with Davies.
