Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts, the renowned summer arts day camp, announces that Lauren Brandt Schloss will become Usdan¹s third Executive Director this fall. She will be Usdan¹s first female Executive and the first whose background is in the visual arts. Ms. Schloss will join the staff in June following her tenure as Executive Vice President at New York¹s Studio in a School and her previous position as Director of Education at the Queens Museum. She will succeed Dale Lewis, who following 36 years at Usdan will be leaving in September to direct the new Arts Reach Fund at Long Island Community Foundation.

Composer-Lyricist-Bookwriter Mary Liz McNamara is currently working on Body and Soul based on the 2009 documentary by filmmaker Alice Elliott. Excerpts from Body and Soul were seen at New York Theater Barn in October 2014. Awards: 2013 Bistro Award for Songwriting, 2011 BMI Foundation Harrington Award for creative achievement in musical theater, two MAC awards and six ASCAP PLUS awards. Mary Liz is a frequent NYC performer, and her songs are performed by cabaret and musical theater artists across the country. She is a member of the BMI Musical Theater Workshop (as a composer/lyricist and a librettist), and about a million other performing arts unions and organizations. Her song 'Bacon' was used in an episode of 'So You Think You Can Dance.'

The Tank, a non-profit arts presenter located in the heart of midtown, is proud to present The Assembly's That Poor Dream, a new play set on a train traveling from New York City to Fairfield, CT. Following a successful run at The New Ohio Theatre in the fall of 2014, the company has continued development work on the piece and will be performing an updated version. Inspired by Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, the work unites worlds divided by geography, privilege, and time. Sony Classical is pleased to announce the release of the original motion picture soundtrack of The Imitation Game, a biographical drama about the English code-breaker Alan Turing starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. Composed by Alexandre Desplat, the score soundtrack will be available digitally on November 10 and on CD November 24.
