The 53rd annual Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards, amongst the most sought-after in the South African performing arts community, will take place on Sunday, 18 March at 17:30 at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town. It promises to be a night of flamboyance and flair.

The Signature Theatre (Paige Evans, Artistic Director; James Houghton, Founder) production of Edward Albee's At Home at the Zoo: Homelife & The Zoo Story has been extended one week, the company announced today. The production, which opens on February 21, will now run through March 18, 2018.

The magical world of artist Marc Chagall and his wife Bella will be tenderly brought to life onstage at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts (The Wallis) next month in director Emma Rice's production of Daniel Jamieson's The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk.  Partners in life and on canvas, Marc and Bella are immortalized as the picture of romance. On the painter's canvas they flew, but in real life they walked through some of the most challenging times in 20th Century history-navigating the devastation of war, the Russian Revolution and each other. Following the artistic heights of Brief Encounter and 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips, Kneehigh and Rice return to The Wallis with a production that combines the visuals of Chagall's paintings with the music and dance of the Russian-Jewish tradition. Quintessence Theatre Group continues its blockbuster 8th season with Samuel Beckett's existential and absurdist classic, Waiting for Godot. People's Light Founding Member Ken Marini makes his Quintessence debut as director of this classic work which stars local legends and Barrymore Winners Frank X and Johnnie Hobbs Jr. Waiting for Godot runs January 31-February 18.
