Bringing you politically savvy comedy since 2001, Broad Comedy is a nationally touring, award-winning, all-women musical comedy and sketch troupe that is made up of five irreverent, hilarious, and ridiculously talented women to whom nothing is sacred-except an unflinching and uproarious look at our culture. A rowdy piece of popular theatre written by Morna Pearson and accompanied by an exceptionally catchy original pop-punk score by Jonny Hardie, Let's Inherit The Earth flits between scenes on the theme of climate change, how it is driven by capitalism and how it is further exploited by that very same capitalism.

You're an immortal demi-goddess whose only job is to sing and look beautiful. No, this isn't a show about Beyonce. Three Greek sirens find themselves washed up on Hastings beach. It's 2018, Zeus has done a runner, sailors don't tend to hang about in sleepy coastal towns anymore and sitting around naked on rocks is no longer en vogue. BWW Review: Musical Theatre West Salutes Old-Fashioned YANKEE DOODLE DANDY
by Michael Quintos - Jul 12, 2018

George M. Cohan has been attributed to being the father of the American Musical, whose works are the very roots of Broadway and musical theater that we know today. Without his numerous contributions to the American theater, Broadway as we all know it probably wouldn't even exist. This is the idea that's drummed rather loudly and patriotically by the ending of YANKEE DOODLE DANDY, the 2004 stage musical now in the midst of its Southern California regional premiere via Musical Theatre West. A fairly entertaining, if inescapably old-fashioned jukebox musical that paints rather broad strokes rather than giving a deep dive into Cohan's life story, this new production continues performances at the Carpenter Center for the Performing Arts in Long Beach through July 22, 2018.
