The 57th BFI London Film Festival has announced theie full line-up for this year's event which runs from October 9 - 20. The Festival will include 234 features, including 22 films making their world premieres.

Master puppeteer Blair Thomas will direct and create puppetry for CCT's The Houdini Box, already a recipient of two prestigious development grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. Book and lyrics are by Hannah Kohl, with original music by Mark Messing, music director of Chicago's #1 circus punk marching band Mucca Pazza.

The Theatre School at DePaul University presents IN THE RED AND BROWN WATER, by alumnus and award-winning playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney, and directed by Marc David Pinate, as the first production of the 2012-2013 New Directors Series. IN THE RED AND BROWN WATER opens Friday, November 2, and runs through Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Greenhouse Theater Center. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on October 31 and November 1 at 7:30 PM.

With a cast of 13 led by some of the biggest names in the Toronto musical theatre scene, The Giant's Garden is sure to have a big impact on this year's Toronto Fringe Festival. The show features music by Dora and Canadian Comedy Award nominee Scott White (Top Gun! The Musical, Sleepless) who also scored the Broadway World Toronto Award winning show Bosco & Jones, and a stellar cast led by Dora Award winning performer Paula Wolfson (Mrs. Potts in Beauty & The Beast, Les Mis, Shaking The Foundations), stage veteran Mark Terene (Pumbaa in the Canadian cast of The Lion King and Cogsworth in Beauty & The Beast) and Michael MacLennan as the Giant (Nine, Oklahoma, Man Of La Mancha).

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) has today announced 'Brits to Watch: The Screenings', a series of showcase events, in partnership with British Council, that will introduce outstanding British film talent to the US film industry. The series builds on the legacy of BAFTA's 2011 'Brits to Watch' initiative supported by Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, at which BAFTA introduced 42 promising British newcomers to leading figures in the US film, television and games industries at a black-tie gala event in Los Angeles.

Due to overwhelming demand, Three Oaks Theater Festival co-founders John Stoops, Tim Evans, and Marc Grapey have added a second performance of Complicated, a new musical from Poi Dog Pondering. Complicated will play on August 3 at 8:00pm and 10:30pm EST (7:00pm and 9:30pm CST).

Michael Sgouros, composer and percussionist, has been nominated for an Innovative Theatre Award - Outstanding Original Music for Hollow the musical which premiered at the historic Players Theatre in September 2012. The production ran for 9 months and is currently on hiatus until September 21 of this year when it will take the stage again at the Players Theatre.
