 A stunning portrait of a family trying to maintain their culture and traditions as war rages around them, the graceful historical drama THE GUARDIANS is the latest offering from the acclaimed French filmmaker Xavier Beauvois, whose previous films include the award-winning Of Gods and Men and The Price of Fame.

Spring Awakening opened to a sold-out crowd last night in West Hollywood's The Lounge Theatre, this being the premiere project for Me + You Productions. The rock musical, known for being groundbreaking on Broadway in 2006, is looked at through a new lens in this production: Gun Saftey. With 100% of proceeds going to Everytown for Gun Saftey, Me + You Productions find the intricate balance of connecting current struggles and honoring the original story.

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced casting for The Color Purple, directed by Tony Award winner John Doyle. Cast members from the 2015 Broadway revival lead the Paper Mill Playhouse company, including Adrianna Hicks (Aladdin, Sister Act - Germany) as Celie, Carla R. Stewart (Ghost - National Tour, Rent - Regional) as Shug Avery and Carrie Compere (Holler If You Hear Me,Shrek the Musical - National Tour) as Sofia.

Netflix and CBC have renewed the award-winning Anne with an E from Northwood Entertainment for a highly anticipated third season (10 x 60). Inspired by the timeless Canadian novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery, the third season of Anne with an E will continue to tell the coming-of-age story of an outsider who, against all odds and numerous challenges, fights for acceptance, for her place in the world, and for love.

Starting this week, medici.tv will broadcast two of the summer's most highly anticipated opera productions, one each from the Glyndebourne Festival and the Salzburg Festival: Barber's Vanessa starring Emma Bell as Vanessa from Glyndebourne on August 14; and Tchaikovsky's The Queen of Spades conducted by Mariss Jansons on August 16. The Toronto International Film Festival® announced today that Jeremiah Terminator LeRoy will close this year's Festival. From director Justin Kelly, Jeremiah Terminator LeRoy is based on one of the most famous literary gambits in American history. Adapted from the memoir Girl Boy Girl: How I Became JT LeRoy by Savannah Knoop, the film promises a boundary-breaking Closing Night Gala bursting with intrigue.

Producing Artistic Director Carolyn Griffin announceS that the play The Painted Rocks at Revolver Creek by Athol Fugard, directed by MetroStage Artistic Associate Thomas W. Jones II will open the 2018-19 season at MetroStage, running August 30-September 30.

A significant contender for nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category of the 2019 Academy Awards®, The Guardians opens this Saturday, August 18 at 7pm at The Park Theatre's River Street Theatre (RST) in Jaffrey. It screens again on Wednesday, August 22 at 2pm.

East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theater of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, is pleased to announce the cast and creative team for the Los Angeles premiere of Qui Nguyen's Vietgone, which the New York Times has hailed as "a raucous comedy" and Rolling Stone has described as "a wild, enjoyable ride." Directed by Jennifer Chang, Vietgone begins performances on October 18 and runs until November 11, 2018, with opening night on October 25, 2018.

Heartbeat premieres adaptations of two operatic masterpieces, both radically staged, trimmed down and re-orchestrated: Mozart's DON GIOVANNI and Beethoven's FIDELIO.

In its largest international scale production to date, FX has ordered Shogun, a 10-episode limited series period drama based on Shogun, the best-selling novel by James Clavell, it was announced today by John Landgraf, CEO of FX Networks and FX Productions.

Award-winning comedian and writer Sarah Millican, announces her biggest ever stand-up tour of Australia.
