Kinky Boots took home six 2013 Tony Awards, the most of any show in the season, including Best Musical, Best Score (Cyndi Lauper), Best Choreography (Jerry Mitchell), Best Actor (Billy Porter), Best Orchestrations (Stephen Oremus), and Best Sound Design (John Shivers). The show also received the Drama League, Outer Critics Circle, and Broadway.com Awards for Best Musical and the Grammy Award for Best Musical Album, along with many other accolades.

In Kinky Boots,Charlie Price has reluctantly inherited his father's shoe factory, which is on the verge of bankruptcy. Trying to live up to his father's legacy and save his family business, Charlie finds inspiration in the form of Lola. A fabulous entertainer in need of some sturdy stilettos, Lola turns out to be the one person who can help Charlie become the man he's meant to be. As they work to turn the factory around, this unlikely pair finds that they have more in common than they ever dreamed possible... and discovers that when you change your mind about someone, you can change your whole world.

The Isabelle Stevenson Award is presented annually to a member of the theatre community who has made a substantial contribution of volunteered time and effort on behalf of one or more humanitarian, social service or charitable organizations. If that doesn't describe Rosie, we don't know what does. O'Donnell will be presented with the 2014 Isabelle Stevenson Award for her commitment to arts education for New York City's public school children.

In celebration of Gay Pride month, San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus (SFGMC) Artistic Director, Dr. Timothy Seelig announced today the final concert of the 2013/14 season, DAZZLE: Broadway...Our Way! on Wednesday, June 25; Thursday, June 26; and Friday, June 27, 2014 at 8 p.m. at Nourse Theatre (275 Hayes Street, San Francisco). Featuring unforgettable renditions of songs from current and classic Broadway shows, including Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific, Kinky Boots, The Book of Mormon and more, the musical extravaganza will feature surprises and twists on old favorites. After a national online search, the votes have been tallied and the top 10 finalists for BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star have been announced. The 10 finalists will compete for the title of BroadwaySpotted's Next Big Star live at The Davenport Theatre (354 West 45 Street New York, NY 10036) tonight, May 22nd, 2014 at 7PM. The winner will be determined by a panel of industry judges and popular audience vote.
