The Palace Theatre announces its 2013 - 2014 Citizens Bank Performing Arts Series with a season packed with Broadway favorites, an encore of an original Palace Theatre Production, Christmas favorites, and a debut original musical production. The season kicks off September 12th with a special preview performance of RENT and runs through June 21, 2014.

The Fine Print Theatre Company's third season will feature the world premieres of 'Boy Small' by MT Cozzola and 'A Place in the Woods' by Erik Gernand, along with the return of the company's hit musical comedy 'Christmas in Chicago' and the play development workshop and competition, 'Citizens Play Festival.'

According to the New York Times, a slew of new plays are setting their sights on Broadway for the upcoming 2013-14 season. Ayad Akhtar's Pulitzer Prize-winning Disgraced might move to Broadway, starring Aasif Mandvi, who also led the LCT3 production. Additional casting is currently underway.

I've often said that one of the best kept local theater secrets in Columbus can be found tucked away in the unobtrusive studios of the Vern Riffe Center downtown. CATCO's 'Forbidden Broadway's Greatest Hits: Vol. 1' might be the game changer though, because as soon as word gets out about this hilariously funny and exceptionally well cast production, there is really no chance that CATCO can be overlooked this summer.

Panto at The Playhouse returns with Lythgoe Family Productions' special musical twist on the classic Aladdin tale with Aladdin and His Winter Wish, which will be offered as a holiday season add-on.
