Generations of audiences - more than 60 million people from 68 countries - have seen Lord of the Dance created by Michael Flatley (www.lordofthedance.com), the world's highest grossing Irish dance show. Presented by MagicSpace Entertainment and Global Entertainment Group, Lord of the Dance returns to visit 54 cities in North America, kicking off January 29, 2013 in Kingston, ON, Canada. Creator and Artistic Director Michael Flatley, who added fresh costumes, a visually stimulating set featuring an LED wall and revised lighting and set designs this year, still oversees all aspects of the production.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center and New York Asian Film Festival announced the details today for a rare series of appearances by international film icon, Jackie Chan on June 10 and 11, followed by the largest retrospective of his films ever held in North America (June 23-27).

Headlong Dance Theater's AVALANCHE Runs June 6-8

Philadelphia-based Headlong Dance Theater brings a new performance work to New York City that considers the performer's body over a lifetime of performing, and the idea of an ordinary life. Avalanche will be performed June 6-8, 2013, 8 p.m., at Danspace Project, St. Mark's Church-in-the-Bowery. (Tickets are $18 and available at 212-674-8112 or danspaceproject.org.) "If you keep performing," the work posits, "you find something new - something bigger and wilder, and more ordinary. You find your actual body."

2013 Juno Awards Winners Announced

Today the Festival Council announced the appointment of Fergus Linehan as the Director Designate of the Edinburgh International Festival. The post begins on a part time basis on 1 May 2013 to allow time to plan for his first Festival in 2015. Fergus Linehan will become Festival Director and Chief Executive of the Festival full time from 1 October 2014.

English National Ballet will premiere a new production of Le Corsaire (The Pirate), one of the great 19th Century classics, in October 2013. English National Ballet will be the first UK company to perform the complete work which will open in Milton Keynes. The production will tour Southampton, Oxford, Bristol, London and Manchester.
