The winner of five 2011 Tony Awards including Best Play, WAR HORSE will embark on a national tour in June 2012, bringing the hit play to 30 U.S. cities during the 2012-2013 season. WAR HORSE has been seen by almost 2 million people worldwide and is currently playing at New York's Lincoln Center Theater, in London's West End, and at Toronto�s Princess of Wales Theatre. Future productions of WAR HORSE are planned for Australia, Berlin and South Africa, as well as a UK Tour.

The tour of WAR HORSE, based on the beloved novel by Michael Morpurgo and adapted by Nick Stafford, will be directed by Bijan Sheibani based on the original Tony� Award-winning direction by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris, and presented in association with Handspring Puppet Company. At the heart of the show are life-sized puppets which bring breathing, galloping, charging horses to thrilling life on stage.

Michael Morpurgo�s novel, War Horse, is also the inspiration for Steven Spielberg�s feature film of the same name, which was nominated for six Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Horse puppets from Arts Centre Melbourne's upcoming War Horse production and a five-metre long Raptor dinosaur puppet and are among the highlights of the upcoming exhibition War Horse and the Breath of Life celebrating the art of puppetry. Developed in collaboration with The National Theatre of Great Britain to support the Arts Centre Melbourne's season of War Horse, the exhibition will be staged in Arts Centre Melbourne Gallery I from Saturday 10 November 2012 to Sunday 17 March 2013.

The Hennepin Theatre Trust presents the 2012/2013 Broadway Season, which features five Minnesota debuts: The Book of Mormon, the multi-Tony Award winning musical blockbuster from the creators of "South Park;" War Horse; Catch Me If You Can; Priscilla Queen of the Desert; and Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Also featured in the season is Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's Mary Poppins, Rock of Ages, Monty Python's Spamalot, and Shear Madness. Aida, a co-production in partnership with Theater Latte Da and directed by the acclaimed Peter Rothstein, is also available.

The Canadian production of the National Theatre of Great Britain's international phenomenon WAR HORSE will conclude its Toronto run on January 6, 2013 at the Princess of Wales Theatre. The production has set a record in Canada as the longest-running professional drama of all time. At the time of closing, the production will have played 368 performances.

Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced a new lineup of 2012-13 events for The Scene, our Broadway and performing arts group for patrons in their 20s and 30s. The Scene will kick off the new season with a launch event set for Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 including a 6 p.m. pre-show cocktail hour at Rosa Mexicano and discounted tickets to Disney's Beauty and the Beast at the Orpheum Theatre, the classic musical that begins the Trust's 2012/13 Broadway Season.

The Shakespeare Talks series is in partnership with The Pearl Theatre Company.
