In 2005, Spamalot won the Tony Award for best musical comedy. Lovingly ripped off from the classic film "Monty Python and The Holy Grail," this outrageous parody tells the tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and has been called "The best new musical to open" by The New York Times. While embarking on their quest for the Holy Grail, the Knights encounter flying cows, killer rabbits, and taunting Frenchmen while performing heart-stopping musical numbers.

The New York Philharmonic will present SONDHEIM: The Birthday Concert on March 15 and Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at 7:30 p.m. This celebration of the 80th birthday of the great Broadway and film composer/lyricist will include his most enduring orchestral music and songs - performed, in some cases, by the stars of the original Broadway cast productions - in addition to rarely-heard material. Joining the celebration will be (in alphabetical order) Michael Cerveris, Victoria Clark, Jason Danieley, Nathan Gunn, George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Marin Mazzie, Audra McDonald, Donna Murphy, Mandy Patinkin, Bernadette Peters, and others to be announced, including surprise guests. Paul Gemignani, Mr. Sondheim's longtime collaborator, will conduct the New York Philharmonic; Lonny Price is the director; and Mr. Price and Matt Cowart are the producers.
Casting has been announced for York Theatre Company's upcoming performance of the musical revue, THAT TIME OF THE YEAR. The cast will include Broadway stars Ann Harada and Josh Grisetti, as well as Bridget Beirne, Kerri Jill Garbis, and Thom Christopher Warren. Maine State Music Theater has announced its line-up for summer 2010. The titles include: 'Always... Patsy Cline,' 'My Fair Lady,' 'Chicago,' and 'Monty Python's Spamalot.' The season will begin on June 9th and run through August 28th. This will be MSMT's 52nd summer season presenting professional musical theatre at the Pickard Theater in Brunswick, Maine. The season will also be a celebration of Artistic Director, Chuck Abbott's 20th year.
