Main Street Theater recently announced its new Theater for Youth Accommodations Performances: Sensory Friendly, Audio Descriptive, and American Sign Language Interpreted.  From this initiative at the theater has come a groundbreaking partnership between the University of Houston's American Sign Language Interpreting (ASLI) Program and Main Street Theater (MST).

 The Mountain Play Association, the San Francisco Bay Area's most magical outdoor theater experience, will present the timeless classic Disney's Beauty and the Beast directed by Jay Manley for their 104th season. Based on the French fairy tale of the same name by Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont, Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST tells the story of a monstrous prince and a young woman who fall in love. Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will take place every Sunday from May 21 to June 18, 2017.

Theatreworks USA will continue its 2016 weekend family performance series this Sunday April 3rd, with Henry and Mudge? was adapted by bookwriter/lyricist Kait Kerrigan and composer/lyricist Brian Lowdermilk (Jonathan Larson Award-winners) and is based on the best-selling books by Cynthia Rylant, illustrated by Sucie Stevenson. Henry and Mudge premiered Off-Broadway in July 2006 at the Lucille Lortel Theatre. This 60-minute musical is recommended for ages 4 and up.

Saint Michael's Playhouse Producing Artistic Director Chuck Tobin today announced the July 19 opening of the Off-Broadway hit Murder for Two at Saint Michael's Playhouse. Murder for Two features book and music by Joe Kinosian, book and lyrics by Kellen Blair and stars Noel Carey and Jeremiah Ginn, both from Murder for Two's national tour. Murder for Two creative team is led by director Jeremy Scott Lapp with choreography by Wendy Seyb, scenic design by John Paul Devlin, costume design by Andrea Lauer, lighting design Anthony Pellecchia, and sound design by Jill BC DuBoff.

The New York Philharmonic has announced the 2016-17 season's Insights at the Atrium series, free events exploring themes of the Philharmonic's concert season through multimedia lectures, conversations, and panel discussions. Expanding to eight events this season, Insights at the Atrium has gained in popularity since its inception in 2011, helping thousands of audience members delve more deeply into the music, musicians, and ideas featured in the Philharmonic's season through a dynamic and accessible forum. All events are held at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center and begin at 7:30 p.m.

Asheville Creative Arts (ACA), Asheville's professional children's theatre and Hood Huggers International, which offers sustainable strategies for building support pillars for resilient historically African American neighborhoods, announce they will be co-hosting a second conversation with NC Stage Company, and a list-in-formation of other participating local theatres and artists, around the values and action items outlined by The Ghostlight Project, held at Hood Hugger's Burton Street Community Peace Garden (47 Bryant Street), on Sunday May 7, from 3-4pm, rain or shine. This free event will feature a moderated discussion about the role of the arts and not-for-profit theatre companies in supporting and being responsive to the communities they serve in the years to come.
