CAPA Announces Their 2009 Summer Movie Series Line-up Of Classics & Cult Faves

CAPA's 2009 Summer Movie Series, the longest-running classic film series in America, celebrates its 39th anniversary with a lineup of classics, cult favorites, and most beloved films. The 2009 series will run July 17 - August 30, at the historic Ohio Theatre (39 E. State St.), and is made possible through the generous support of National City, now a part of PNC.

As we enter the month of August, many places are experiencing the 'dog days of summer' - those hot and sultry days where ya' just don't feel like doin' anything ... and there's not a whole lot to do. Well - that is NOT the case here on the California Central Coast! The weather is wonderful, the grape vines are green and heavy with fruit (and the tasting rooms are open for business), the beaches are beautiful, the shops and restaurants are ready to welcome you, and there's more theatre goin' on than you can shake a stick at!

TheaterWorks in downtown Hartford presents the New England Premiere of Dead Man's Cell Phone, the latest comedy by one of America's hottest contemporary playwrights, Sarah Ruhl (The Clean House, Eurydice, 2006 winner of the MacArthur 'Genius Grant'). The production runs January 30 through March 15, 2009 (please note the change in previously announced dates). Written in Ruhl's signature juxtaposition of keenly observed realities and hilarious flights of fantasy, Dead Man's Cell Phone 'takes surprising twists and leaps' (The New York Times). TheaterWorks' production is directed by Rob Ruggiero.
