Theatre enthusiasts packed the Mountain View Center for the Performing Arts tonight to hear Founding Artistic Director Robert Kelley and Managing Director Phil Santora of TheatreWorks Silicon Valley unveil the lineup for the company's 48th season.
Theatre for a New Audience has announced the performance schedule, cast and creative team for director Arin Arbus's new staging of Thornton Wilder's comic masterpiece The Skin of Our Teeth, the first major New York production since 1998.
Undermain Theatre Presents GALILEO, Bertolt Brecht's masterpiece, which he translated in English in collaboration with Charles Laughton. GALILEO will be produced at Undermain's home in Deep Ellum - 3200 Main St. with company member Bruce DuBose in the title role. DuBose is a recipient of Best Actor awards from the Dallas Critics Forum, D Magazine and the Dallas Observer. Directed by Undermain's Artistic Director, Katherine Owens, opening night will be Today, February 11th with a curtain time of 7:30 pm. Preview performances will be on February 8th, 9th, and 10th at 7:30 pm. All preview performances are only $15. All evening show times are 7:30 pm with two Sunday matinee performances at 2:00 pm on February 19th and March 5th. The production will run through March 5th.

Theatre Nova, Ann Arbor's professional playwrights' theater, now finishing up its second year of operations, is proud to announce additions to its leadership team. Founding Artistic Director, Carla Milarch, will be joined by Diane Hill and David Wolber who will both serve as Producing Artistic Directors. Hackney Empire today announced the full cast of its brand new pantomime for 2016, Sleeping Beauty. The West End's leading lady Alexia Khadime (Wicked, The Book of Mormon, The Lion King) will be returning to the site of her stage debut to star as Princess Tahlia (Sleeping Beauty). She will be joined by Olivier Award-winner Sharon D Clarke who returns to Hackney Empire after her appearance in Mother Goose in 2014. They are joined by Gavin Spokes who makes his dameing debut, he joins the Hackney Empire family straight from his Olivier Award-nominated performance as Nicely Nicely Johnson in Guys and Dolls in the West End.

Berkeley Rep today announced it will host a memorial service honoring actress and director Angela Paton on Monday, July 11 at 7pm. Paton, who passed away in May, appeared in numerous Berkeley Rep productions, including memorable turns as Mary in Long Day's Journey into Night and the cantankerous mother in The Beauty Queen of Leenane. She had a long and successful career in the Bay Area dating back to the 1960s as a principal actor at American Conservatory Theater and she was the founder and artistic director of the Berkeley Stage Company from 1974 to 1984.
