Following the record-breaking attendance of Festival 2013, Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival announces the full 2014 Festival free and ticketed event schedule. Jacob's Pillow is a National Historic Landmark, home to America's longest-running dance festival, and a recipient of the National Medal of Arts. Noted dance writer Jennifer Dunning has called the Pillow "the dance center of the nation, possibly the world."

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced Tony Award winner Rosemary Harris will play the role of 'Eleanor Swan' in the Off-Broadway premiere of Tom Stoppard's Indian Ink, directed by Carey Perloff. Dinner with Friends offers an intimate view of two marriages and four friendships, examining the loyalties, fears, passions, and habits that keep couples and friends together. Marriage is a popular onstage subject, the backbone for many of the last century's most iconic plays. Domestic drama as we know it today may be traced back to Henrik Ibsen's 1879 play A Doll's House. Virginia Repertory Theatre announces the second annual Anything Goes Gala on Saturday, February 1, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Hotel, 101 West Franklin Street. The gala will raise important funds for Virginia Rep and highlight professional theatre in Central Virginia. The black tie fundraiser will include cocktails in the Rotunda and dinner in the Main Ball Room, silent and live auctions, and featured entertainment from Scott Wichmann (Say Goodnight Gracie, The Producers, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), Stacey Cabaj (My Fair Lady, Sound of Music) and straight from Broadway as the lead role in the revival of Annie, Taylor Richardson. Taylor used to live in Richmond and played Susan Waverly in Virginia Rep's production of White Christmas.
Let's hear it for the ladies of horror: those evil, tormented women, who have been inhabited by the devil or perhaps chased by a crazed lunatic wielding a deadly chainsaw. Fear not, your nightmares have been answered as EPIX and FEARnet have partnered to present 'Maidens of Mayhem,' a week-long festival of horror films featuring possessed ladies and the men/women and other entities who love them - or want to kill them. The festival begins on FEARnet today, October 14th and moves to EPIX on Thursday, October 17th with a special presentation of the original Carrie (1976) starring Sissy Spacek on the eve of the latest film adaptation of the Stephen King novel, starring Chlo? Grace-Moretz and Julianne Moore. Following the film, EPIX will present a World Premiere sneak peek at the new movie (see full schedule below).

On October 19th New Language Art will host their 2nd annual wine, beer, food and art festival from 12 Noon to 6 PM at the Old Sulphur Springs Resort, Union WV benefiting surrounding county artists to include the Monroe Arts Alliance, Giles County Arts Council, the Greenbrier, Summers and Mercer Counties artists. It will be a fun packed event with local wines, beer, foods, music and the artists will have items on display and for sale.
Throughout the day, two West Virginia wineries, Watts Roost Vineyard, Lewisburg, VU JA DE, Spencer and American Brewing Meadow Bluff will provide tastings and sale of beer and wine.
Local eateries will offer food for sale: 50 East & Vines & Grinds, White Sulphur Springs; The Hall Tavern & The Korner Kafe Union WV; Bella The Corner Gourmet Lewisburg WV and NLA Catering Greenville WW will provide gourmet delights for sale.
And threading through all the other enjoyable things to see and taste is the music which will be provided by The Carpenter Ants, Doc Greenberg's Patient Jazz Band, Little Sparrow and Option 22.
Salt Sulphur Springs Historic District is a national historic district located at Salt Sulphur Springs (Monroe County), WV. The district includes seven contributing buildings, three contributing sites, and two contributing structures related to the Old Salt Sulphur Springs Resort or "Old Salt." Notable properties include the Old Stone Hotel, Episcopal Chapel, Stone Store Building (1820), Stone Bath House (1820), Stone Spring House (c. 1820), Sweet Sulphur Springs Site (discovered 1802), Salt Sulphur Spring (discovered 1805), and Iodine Spring (1838). It is the area's most significant collection of native limestone buildings and is listed on the National Register of Historic Place in 1985.
