Rehearsals are set to begin September 28, 2015.

As the landmark American musical FIDDLER ON THE ROOF celebrates its 50th anniversary, Arena Stage is bringing the show to audiences new and old in production on the intimate and iconic Fichlander Stage. Arena's artistic director Molly Smith directs the production which features the original Jerome Robbins choreography adapted and restaged by Parker Esse. Jeffrey Walker of BroadwayWorld-DC caught up with actors Ann Arvia and Jonathan Hadary who play Golde and Tevye in the new production which is wowing audiences and dazzling critics each night. This new production boasts an original musical score by Alan Menken, the legendary Oscar and Tony winning composer of Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, with book and lyrics by acclaimed lyricist-librettist David Spencer and direction by American theatre veteran Austin Pendleton. The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers covering New York theatre for out-of-town newspapers, national publications and other media beyond Broadway, is proud to announce Broadway's "Fiddler on the Roof" star Danny Burstein along with last season's high-kicking "She Loves Me" sensation and TV favorite Jane Krakowski will announce the nominees for the 2016-17 season on Tuesday, April 25th(11 AM) in the Oak Room at New York's renowned Algonquin Hotel (59 West 44th Street). Outer Critics Circle will announce two new award categories this year, "Outstanding Sound Design" and "Outstanding Orchestrations" to increase award nominations to 27 categories. Outer Critics Circle nominations are the first major Broadway/Off-Broadway award nominees of the New York theatre season.
