Shoshana Bean to Headline Cabaret at The Merc, 5/18

Cabaret at The Merc in association with Temecula Presents has announced a one night only concert by Broadway's own, Shoshana Bean. Sunday, May 18 at 7:30pm, Shoshana will take the Old Town Temecula Theater Stage for the first time with a concert from her recent album O'Farrell Street!

Atlantic Theater Company and Atlantic for Kids is tuning up to present the New York premiere of Mr. Chickee's Funny Money, an all-new, rhythm and blues family musical, featuring music and lyrics that groove to an original score by Motown legend Lamont Dozier (hits include Stop in the Name of Love, Sugar Pie Honey Bun, How Sweet it Is, more;) and his son, Paris Dozier, with a book by David Ingber (Major League Baseball Fan Cave), directed by Jade King Carroll (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Portland Stage), and musical supervision by Brian Usifer (Kinky Boots, Book of Mormon).

For its 22nd annual Spring Gala, the Kennedy Center will salute the more than 13 year tenure of Kennedy Center president Michael M. Kaiser with Camelot in Concert on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 8 p.m. in the Concert Hall. The famed 1960 musical features book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner with music by Frederick Loewe and this semi-staged concert version will be adapted, directed and choreographed by Tony Award® nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge. The concert staging will be accompanied by the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Music Director James Moore. With this concert, Camelot makes its Kennedy Center debut. One of the co-chairs of the 2014 Spring Gala will be Laysha Ward, President, Target Community Relations.

AboutFACE Ireland will be presenting Orson Welles' Christmas Carol, a new play for Christmas for the whole family, at the Powerscourt Theatre in Dublin, for 5 performances only, December 20th-22nd 2013. Written by Paul Nugent, it tells a fictionalized account, based on true events, of the Christmas Eve 1938 night where, in CBS Radio Studio 1, the young radio superstar Orson Welles and his Mercury Theatre on the Air are set to perform their eagerly awaited weekly 60-minute version of a classic; tonight it's “A Christmas Carol.” Only things aren't too Christmassy: it's ten minutes to ON-AIR and legendary Scrooge Lionel Barrymore has fallen sick, and now 23-year-old Orson has to step into his shoes; plus the script still isn't right, Orson's on the rampage, his cast are revolting after three days of rehearsing without sleep, and the pressure's on after the success of “War of the Worlds”: the Nation awaits and Hollywood's watching!
