St. Ann's Warehouse and Irish Arts Center (IAC) join forces to introduce New York audiences to two new works by the Tony Award-winning Irish playwright-director Enda Walsh.

Maureen Beattie, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Gerrome Miller, Beatrice Scirocchi and Andrew Sheridan have been cast in Simon Stephens' Nuclear War directed by Imogen Knight. It runs in the Royal Court Jerwood Theatre Upstairs 19 April 2017 - 6 May 2017 with Press Night on Friday 21 April.

The Minnesota Orchestra announces plans today for Sommerfest 2017, unveiling a celebratory summer festival in which the Orchestra salutes two of its artistic leaders: Doc Severinsen on his 90th birthday, and Sommerfest Artistic Director Andrew Litton, who has announced that this summer will mark his final season as the head of the festival. Running from July 3 to August 5, Minnesota Orchestra's summer season includes two tribute concerts to Pops Conductor Laureate Severinsen; performances by Litton and his friends André Watts, William Wolfram and New York City Ballet dancers; and culminates with the opera Litton has long wanted to conduct in Minnesota, Strauss' Salome. The summer season also involves the annual Symphony for the Cities concerts, two previously announced regular season programs and the return of the Minnesota Orchestra Fantasy Camp.

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 32 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2017 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. California Shakespeare Theater today announced that Tyne Rafaeli will direct Cal Shakes' final production of its 2017 season, the previously-announced Measure for Measure. This first-ever co-production between Cal Shakes and Santa Cruz Shakespeare will play at the Bruns Amphitheater from September 20 through October 15.

St. Ann's Warehouse welcomes Penny Arcade, legendary downtown New York writer, performance artist, actress and force for artistic resistance, for the American Premiere of her internationally acclaimed Longing Lasts Longer, tonight, December 1, through December 11.

Writers in Performance is a 12-week writing and performance workshop hosted by BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center, culminating in two public presentations.  Throughout the course of the workshop, talented actors, playwrights, poets and storytellers have explored writing exercises, theater games, improvisation, movement techniques, and ensemble work in a safe, creative environment. This season, the theme and title of the Writers in Performance show is 'Home.' Writers in Performance participants are diverse by design; not only in ethnicity, but by age, and experience as well, mixing professionals with students.  On Friday, December 2 & Saturday, December 3, 2016 at 7:30PM, the troupe will showcase the monologues and short scenes they have been crafting.  We are proud to have members of the BMCC student community in the production (denoted below).
