Showtime Features Arnold in THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT, 12/31
by Nicole Rosky - Dec 17, 2010

Iconoclastic comedian Tom Arnold will ring in the New Year on SHOWTIME with the debut of his first-ever stand-up comedy special, THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT - premiering on Friday, December 31st at 9:00 PM (ET/PT). Best known for his work as comic relief in over 72 films ('True Lies,' 'Nine Months,' 'Hero'), Arnold takes to the stage to poke fun at his Midwest upbringing, his well-publicized marital follies and the absurdity of Hollywood. He candidly details his hilarious, real-life journey in the public eye over his nearly three-decade career. THAT'S MY STORY AND I'M STICKING TO IT is a Payaso Entertainment production, with Scott Montoya and Neal Marshall producing and Montoya directing. BWW Interviews: Alice Raver, A Life in the Theatre
by Jeffrey Ellis - Apr 16, 2010

Over the past few seasons, Alice Raver has gained a reputation as one of the 'go-to actresses' for Actors Bridge Ensemble, appearing in some of the company's most compelling new works, including this season's production of Judevine and my personal favorite, Sarah Ruhl's Dead Man's Cell Phone, in which she played the tart-tongued Hermia. It was clearly a case of going against type: You would be hard-pressed to meet anyone, onstage or off, who's nicer than Alice Raver. Perhaps that's why her performance in Dead Man's Cell Phone was so exhilaratingly fun - both for audiences and Raver, herself: 'I loved playing Hermia in Dead Man Cell Phone because the ensemble was so wonderful and the play was both funny and thought-provoking.'

BWW Interviews: Cinda McCain, A Life in the Theatre
by Jeffrey Ellis - Mar 25, 2010

Cinda McCain is one of the most naturally gifted actors you'll find on a stage anywhere. Thankfully, though, most of her work has been performed in Nashville and over the years the Mississippi native has assembled a resume that's full of some of the best theatrical roles for women: Blanche DuBois in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire (which won her the First Night Award for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Play); Meg in Beth Henley's Crimes of the Heart; Nurse Ratched in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - the list goes on and on. Most recently, however, she's found herself on soundstages, making film appearances alongside such notables as Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw in the upcoming Love Don't Let Me Down.

Now working on the role of 'Martha' in Edward Albee's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf, one of those roles every actress longs for, her resume also includes First Night Award-winning turns as Sally Bowles in Cabaret and as Madame de Tourvel in Les Liaisons Dangereuses. Her list of directing credits is even more eclectic: Lady Frederick, Lady Windermere's Fan, O Jerusalem, Quilters, The Tempest, A Winter's Tale and Crimes of the Heart - and that's just a sampling of her multi-faceted list of assignments.

30 Years of Fosse's ALL THAT JAZZ
by BWW News Desk - Dec 27, 2009

Bob Fosse's 'All That Jazz' is a semi-autobiographical fantasy film that centers on the tumultuous life of choreographer Bob Gideon, played in the film by Roy Scheider, a hedonistic workaholic. The film was largely inspired by an episode in Fosse's life during which he frantically worked to stage his 1975 Broadway hit, 'Chicago' while editing his feature film 'Lenny', based on the life of comedian Lenny Bruce.

REVIEW: Lyceum Theatre Closes Their 2009 Season with Charming Presentation of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE - A LIVE RADIO PLAY
by Chris Gibson - Nov 16, 2009

The 2009 season for the Lyceum Theatre draws to a close with IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE - A LIVE RADIO PLAY. This is a unique take on the familiar holiday film classic that's been reworked for the stage by Joe Landry; in this case as a radio dramatization. What's interesting to me is that it was quite common during the golden age of radio to adapt current movies for the airwaves, and that was actually done back in the 1940's with Frank Capra's timeless feature. So, you're essentially viewing a fictionalized version of an event that genuinely occurred at some point. And, it's a perfectly charming and delightful experience.
