Friends of BARE Composer Damon Intrabartolo Seek Funds for Memorials

Earlier this month, BroadwayWorld reported that Damon Intrabartolo, who wrote the music for BARE, passed away on August 13 in Arizona where he has been living the last few years. He was 39 years old. It was just announced on his memorial Facebook page that a New York memorial will be held on September 30th at Saint Clement's Church (46th Street), and his Los Angeles memorial on September 23rd at Pasadena Playhouse.

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced its 2013-14 season. Music Director Franz Welser-Most will introduce a Fall Festival, pairing symphonies by Beethoven and Shostakovich, and an all-Brahms weekend with two programs featuring Brahms's Violin Concerto and his Second and Fourth Symphonies. Mr. Welser-Most brings opera back to Severance Hall, with a semi-staged production of Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen. Guest artists returning to Severance Hall include Leon Fleisher, Mitsuko Uchida, Radu Lupu, and conductors Christoph von Dohnanyi, Pierre Boulez, and Herbert Blomstedt. The Orchestra celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of Benjamin Britten with performances of his Spring Symphony, Violin Concerto, and Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings.

As reported by Variety, the Showtime network and actor Michael C. Hall, star of Showtime's hit series 'Dexter', have been locked in contract negotiations for several months. Now Variety reports that if an agreement can be successfully reached between the cable network and the actor, Hall would be allowed to star in the upcoming Broadway musical adaptation of Tim Burton's, BIG FISH.

According to Deadline.com, Broadway veteran Michael C. Hall is in negotiations to lead an upcoming Broaway production of BIG FISH. Susan Stroan will direct the stage adaptation of the Tim Burton film, which will feature music by Andrew Lippa.
