Catherine Zeta Jones Joins ROCK OF AGES Film!

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Adam Shankman has created a role for Catherine Zeta Jone in the highly anticipated big screen adaptation of ROCK OF AGES. JOne, who is currently in final negotiations for the film, will play a villian character described by Shankman as: 'if Tipper Gore and Anita Bryant had a love child. She is this hardcore, moral majority, arch-conservative who wants to shut down rock'n roll in the great city of Los Angeles.'

On ROCK OF AGES film director Adam Shankman's Twitter, he wrote that he 'was at #rockofagesmovie office last night til 1130 pm. Long day, but script gets better and better. New song mashups sound amazing. Added rock you like a hurricane to movie. It's AWESOME!!!'

In celebration of the reopening of Rock of Ages at the Helen Hayes Theatre, Dee Snider of Twisted Sister was honored with a certificate naming him the show's worldwide ambassador during a celebration held at Bowlmor Lanes Times Square this past Friday. Snider, whose music is featured in the hit Broadway show (‘I Wanna Rock' and ‘We're Not Gonna Take It'), recently played the character of 'Dennis' for an 11 week run before the show went dark last fall in anticipation of its move to the Helen Hayes Theatre.

The production moved houses to make way for RAIN, which had to vacate it's home at the Neil Simon Theatre to accommodate Catch Me If You Can. After months of speculation, ROCK OF AGES film director Adam Shankman has confrimed that Tom Cruise has officially begun work as Stacee Jaxx. He tells the Toronto Sun: 'I think we're going to see him every drop the rock'n'roll god. He's pouring himself in this part in a way I've never had an actor do. It's pretty intense. Between the voice lessons, the incredible study... researching the period, it's like 1987, just going there!'
