The Sydney premiere of Malthouse Theatre's radical reimagining of Kenneth Cook's cult Australian novel Wake in Fright comes to the Sydney Opera House Playhouse this February as part of its UnWrapped series. Under the direction of Declan Greene (Sisters Grimm, Pompeii, L.A., Blackie Blackie Brown) audiences will be transported to an unsettling, visceral evocation of claustrophobia in the outback.

Direct from a successful off-Broadway run, Kathleen Turner brings her cabaret show, Finding My Voice, to the Peace Center's Gunter Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.

Free For All, one of the capital's cherished annual traditions, will return this summer to Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC), offering two weeks of free performances of the Company's 2016 production of Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet. On October 22nd at the Harold Pinter Theatre, a host of stars will gather to perform scenes from Shakespeare's plays in response to modern-day refugee video stories. The evening will be directed by Jamie Lloyd. All profits go to the UN Refugee Agency, UNHCR.

Every so often, a show comes along that strikes a chord in the most difficult audience to please: actors. As people of show business, we as actors find ourselves in a difficult position when going to see a show that is not ours; we are critical, we are hopeful, we are looking to be impressed.
