Room Service, the 1937 screwball comedy by Allen Boretz and John Murray is Broadway-bound.
As BroadwayWorld reported this morning, Bette Midler will indeed return to Broadway in one of the most cherished shows in musical theater history when she takes on the role of Dolly Gallagher Levi in Michael Stewart's (book) and Jerry Herman's (music and lyrics) masterpiece, Hello, Dolly!. Directed by four-time Tony Award® winner Jerry Zaks, Hello, Dolly! will begin performances on Broadway on March 13, 2017, with an official opening night of April 20, 2017. Rehearsals begin one year from today.
This new production of Hello, Dolly!, the first new production of this classic musical to appear on Broadway since it opened more than fifty years ago, will have at its helm Jerry Zaks as its director, and will feature choreography by Tony Award-winner Warren Carlyle. The new Dolly! will pay tribute to the original work of legendary director/choreographer Gower Champion, which has been hailed both then and now as one of the greatest stagings in musical theater history.

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) Theatre announces individual tickets are now on sale for its upcoming season. This year, the troupe will bring an incredible lineup of quality shows, such as "The Phantom of the Opera," at prices the entire family can enjoy. During the final month of the popular Smithsonian exhibition What's Up, Doc? The Animation Art of Chuck Jones -- closing Monday, January 19 -- Museum of the Moving Image will be celebrating animation in its galleries, theaters, and classrooms. In conjunction with the Chuck Jones exhibition, this holiday period, the Museum is presenting daily screenings of classic Chuck Jones cartoons and "Stop Motion Shapes," family animation workshops inspired by the legendary animator. It is with great sadness that Aurora Theatre Company announces the passing of the company's founding Artistic Director Barbara Oliver due to complications from a recent stroke. Barbara passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 20 at her Berkeley home, surrounded by family.
