Building on a series of firsts, the Baldwin-Wallace College Conservatory of Music will continue to break ground with in-repertory productions of La Bohème by Giacomo Puccini and RENT by Jonathan Larson in February 2011. Larson based RENT on the story of La Boheme and used a number of melodic themes from the opera for his musical.

The New Orleans Ballet Association is proud to announce that New Orleans' very own Mireille Hassenboehler will once again take the stage with Houston Ballet at the Mahalia Jackson Theater of the Performing Arts. Following last season's triumphant premiere of Marie, the company returns on October 24 at 8pm for a special command performance of works by four of the world's preeminent choreographers.

Variety has confirmed additional details regarding the development of a film version of Miss Saigon, including word that the film will be produced by Paula Wagner and by Cameron Mackintosh, with Lee Daniels to direct. The team aims to hire a script writer next, with 'an eye towards getting the film into production next year for a 2011 release.'
