Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced the first round of participants for the inaugural WTF CABARETSERIES at 54 Below. A revolving cast of Festival veterans, including Todd Almond, Becky Ann Baker, Jessica Hecht, Greg Hildreth, Joe Iconis,Lauren Molina, Euan Morton, Amy Spanger and Jacob Ming Trent will all participate in the Cabaret, which runs between January 15 - 18, 2014with a different lineup of performers each night.

Nigel Redden, director of the Lincoln Center Festival, and Rebecca Robertson, President and Executive Producer, Park Avenue Armory, today announced that the two organizations will co-present The Passenger, Mieczyslaw Weinberg's uncompromising 1968 opera about the Holocaust, performed by Houston Grand Opera and directed by David Pountney, in its New York premiere performances July 10, 12 and 13 at Lincoln Center Festival 2014. Pountney's production will have its U.S. premiere on January 18, 2014 at Houston Grand Opera.

Williamstown Theatre Festival honored Award-winning director and frequent WTF collaborator Scott Ellis, at last night's benefit at the Edison Ballroom in New York City. The evening was hosted by Julie White, who won a Tony Award for her performance in the Ellis-helmed production of The Little Dog Laughed, and included appearances by Tony Award-winners Chita Rivera, Susan Stroman, Rupert Holmes and more. Williamstown Theatre Festival's 2013 benefit will honor Award-winning director and frequent WTF collaborator Scott Ellis, today, Monday, November 18th at 6:30 p.m. at the Edison Ballroom in New York City (240 West 47th Street). The evening is hosted by Julie White, who won a Tony Award for her performance in the Ellis-helmed production of The Little Dog Laughed, and includes appearances by Tony Award-winners Chita Rivera, Susan Stroman, Rupert Holmes and more.

On Sunday, Nov. 10 at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the 2013 Houston Cinema Arts Festival will present the world premiere of a new documentary on the rich five-decade history of Houston Ballet - Houston Ballet: Breaking Boundaries - at 4:00 p.m. An encore screening of the film will be held at Sundance Cinemas on Monday, Nov. 11 at 6:45 p.m. Both screenings are free and open to the public. No advance tickets will be issued. Attendees should arrive at the venue 30 minutes prior to the screening for the best chance of being seated.

NYFF to Present Jean-Luc Godard Retrospective, DAZED AND CONFUSED Anniversary Screening

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that the 51st New York Film Festival (NYFF,September 27 – October 13) will serve as the launching pad for a retrospective of filmmaker Jean-Luc Godard's work. The film series, entitled Jean-Luc Godard - The Spirit of the Forms, will begin during the second week of the festival, on October 9, and continue through the end of the month, October 30. (Specifics for the schedule and titles playing after NYFF will be distributed next week.) This year's NYFF will also play host to the 20th Anniversary screening of Richard Linklater's DAZED AND CONFUSED on October 10 at 9PM, presented by New Wave, and with the director and members of the cast in attendance.

In the world of modern music, few figures loom as large or cast as long a shadow as saxophonist Charlie Parker, best known as 'Bird' (short for 'Yardbird') to generations of musicians. He was born in 1920, and almost sixty years since his death in 1955, he is universally celebrated for single-handedly inventing bebop and bringing jazz into the modern era.

'Stravinsky Re-invented: From Paris to Los Angeles,' the second and final weekend of the 24th annual Bard Music Festival in New York'sAnnandale-on-Hudson, follows Igor Stravinsky from Europe to post-war Hollywood, investigating his subsequent shift in style from neoclassicism to serialism. The weekend opens tonight, August 16, with a screening of film clips that document the great Russian innovator, with commentary by Professor Charles M. Joseph, author of Stravinsky Inside Out. This special session is followed by the weekend's first concert, 'Against Interpretation and Expression: The Aesthetics of Mechanization,' a program of postmodernist ensemble classics by Stravinsky, Bartók, Varèse, Hindemith, and Messiaen; soloists include Grammy-nominated pianist Peter Serkin and So Percussion's Eric Beach.
