RTE has announced today that it will livestream at this year's Wexford Festival Opera for the first time, as part of its collaboration with European public service channel, ARTE. The collaboration will see Wexford Festival Opera's production of Saverio Mercadante's Il bravo (The Assassin) livestreamed internationally on RTE's online Culture platform, RTE.ie/culture.

CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov leads the Columbus Symphony, guest soprano Alexandra Razskazoff, guest mezzo-soprano Siena Licht Miller, guest tenor Jonas Marcel Hacker, guest bass-baritone Andrew Bogard, and the Columbus Symphony Chorus in an unforgettable performance of Handel's deeply spiritual oratorio, Messiah. The work will be performed in its entirety and is the first time the Columbus Symphony has done so since 2010.

Producer Mark Cortale has announced that his internationally acclaimed concert series will bring two of Broadway's leading ladies to Nantucket, Massachusetts' Dreamland Theater this summer with Broadway @ Dreamland. Christine Ebersole, a two-time Tony Award winner for "Grey Gardens" and "42nd Street" and star of Oscar-winning films such as "Amadeus" and "Tootsie," will perform on Monday, July 23 at 7:30 PM. Michael Feinstein and the Pasadena POPS close out their popular outdoor summer concert series at the Los Angeles County Arboretum on Saturday, September 8 with Broadway Goes to the Movies. The POPS season finale will provide a quintessential Feinstein experience with some of Broadway's greatest performers recreating songs from hit shows that traveled from 42nd St. to Hollywood. Directed by Carey Perloff and presented in association with American Conservatory Theater, A Thousand Splendid Suns will run May 12 - June 17, 2018 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage, Old Globe Theatre, Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. The Music Critics Association of North America (MCANA) is pleased to announce that its second annual award for Best New Opera has been given to composer David Hertzberg for The Wake World, which received its premiere on September 18, 2017, commissioned by Opera Philadelphia in a co-presentation with The Barnes Foundation. The award was created to honor musical and theatrical excellence in a fully staged opera that received its world premiere in North America during the preceding calendar year. The inaugural award went to  Breaking the Waves, composed by Missy Mazzoli with libretto by Royce Vavrek.
